Product Description

Roger Hodgson is the voice of Supertramp. Co-founding the band in 1969, he was the lead singer and writer of nearly all their hits throughout the band's heyday in the seventies and early eighties. Since leaving Supertramp in 1983 he has had a series of critically acclaimed and successful solo albums and come through a major accident in the late eighties that threatened his entire career. This live performance was filmed in Montreal and catches Roger at his very best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great family Christmas present 23 Sep 2007
I love this DVD!! I've watched it over and over again with my friends and family and really do feel like it's my own private concert. This DVD was filmed in Montreal. It was shot in HD with 10 cameras, directed by the top French director, Gerard Pullicino and has DTS and Dolby 5.1 surround sound. It has already reached #1 across all Canada and is currently multi-Platinum. The DVD includes Roger's classic Supertramp and solo hits, a previously unreleased song, and orchestra footage of Fool's Overture. It also shows behind the scenes footage from sound check, intimate interviews, photos, fan comments and more.

The track list includes:

1. Take the Long Way Home
2. Give a Little Bit
3. Lovers in the Wind
4. Hide in Your Shell
5. Oh Brother - this one is NEW, never recorded before!
6. The Logical Song
7. Easy Does It
8. Sister Moonshine
9. Love is a Thousand Times
10. Breakfast in America
11. Don't Leave Me Now
12. Dreamer
13. It's Raining Again
14. School
15. Two of Us
16. Give a Little Bit
Bonus Footage:
17. Even in the Quietest Moments
18. Dreamer w/Orchestra
Extra Sneak Previews:
19. Logical Song w/Orchestra
20. Fool's Overture w/Orchestra

Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a great recording, shot in High Definition (HD), of a superb performance in June 2006 by former Supertramp vocalist, co-founder and multi-instrumentalist, Roger Hodgson. This DVD was actually issued late last year in Canada but this new version adds an excellent DTS surround sound mix (less compressed) and new artwork/photos. If you are a fan of Supertramp this is an essential purchase. However, Roger's solo output (which is also fantastic) is also represented here as well as a couple of unreleased tracks. However, it is the extras which go to make this DVD extra special. A great deal of effort has gone into these and in addition to interviews with Roger and some of his fans, there are behind the scenes sections including some lovely footage of the soundcheck with Roger really cutting loose and playing some lovely piano music as the stage hands and technicians scurry round getting prepared. The fact that this show became the best selling DVD in Canada last year must tell you why you should see it. This is one of my fave DVDs and I have over a thousand in my collection! Don't just take my word for it though - read all the glowing testimonials from others who have enjoyed this wonderful show on www.rogerhodgson.com. Now I just can't wait for Roger's tour in the UK later this year. Let's hope that a similar high quality DVD is put together for Supertramp. The fact that this wonderful group have little high quality out on DVD is surely the 'Crime of the Century'!!

5.0 out of 5 stars a stunning reminder 17 Sep 2007
This DVD is a stunning reminder of the talent of Roger Hodgson. The name may ring a bell to some "older" folks but his music is enjoyed by all ages. The signature voice of Supertramp is back, and better than ever.
Reminding us of such hits like "Take THe Long Way Home", "Give a Little Bit", "School", "Dreamer","Logical Song", "Crazy", "It's Raining Again", and way more, this DVD is a wonderful way to enjoy songs, when it was truly made of music, unlike much of today's techno-jabble.
The production itself is awesome, filmed in Canada's Montreal, and in wonderful HD. And you can't beat the glorious Dolby digital 5.1 sound.
And the bonus footage with an Orchestra is hopefully a teaser for yet another DVD.
Roger is truly one of the worlds most brilliant artists and incredibly underrated. Lets just hope, this DVD will not be his "famous last words."
