Product Description

In 2011 Take That embarked on the biggest tour the UK and Ireland had ever seen, breaking all previous records. The Progress Live Tour went through 29 UK stadiums and played to over 1.8 million people. The double disc DVD includes the band’s entire epic-live show and a bonus disc featuring exclusive behind the scenes footage, filmed across the 29 UK dates, giving a unique insight into life on the road of one of the most successful bands in UK history.

Named after the three-million-plus selling Progress album that reunited them, the Progress Live 2011 tour, was the first time the band had toured together as a five-piece (Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams) since 1995. The tour's huge production included roller skating bees, a giant purple caterpillar, shaolin monks, dancing chess pieces, a massive 75 foot wall of water, scaled by acrobatic, gravity defying dancers, a huge 60 foot robot nick-named OM who moved down through the audience throughout the set. The entire set was presided over by the "‘big man", a massive head and shoulder structure with lasers for eyes, 150 feet above, looking out over the crowds on the top of the stage.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great show!!! 7 Feb 2012
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
Although it's not the best show of TT, this concert it's good for many reasons: The music, the costumes, the dancers, etc. I gave it 4 stars because I disagree with the fact that Robbie sings 5 of his songs. It's too much Robbie. I think 2 or 3 songs would have been enough. The best show of TT it's the Circus Live. By the way, the quality of music and image it's good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Show Superbly Filmed 27 Nov 2011
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
The Progress Live Tour broke records in the UK from the moment the tickets went on sale, not least because it promised to combine the ever-growing popularity of the live shows of Take That with the unique and powerful performances for which Robbie Williams had become famous during his solo career. Some fans have strong opinions on this topic, but their reunion as a five piece evidently made the band extremely happy and this joy and sheer boyish delight in each other's company is what shines through to make this my favourite of the Take That Concert DVDs so far. It's a patchwork show combining sections of 'TT4', Robbie solo and the reunited TT5 and whilst it lacks the slick run-through theme that gave 'The Circus' such a particular impact, it is a show that wears it's heart on it's sleeve, filling songs old and new with genuine and moving emotion alongside - as always - impressive staging and spectacle.

The show is also far better filmed than 'The Circus', overcoming issues around filming in stadiums and giving breathtaking 360 degree shots of the crowd and the epic set-pieces. A 'Making Of' disc included is a decent bonus feature, with interviews with the band and some extra gems of footage, and whilst some of the footage will be familiar to those who bought the Progress Live phone app, it does include new footage (and indeed the app had footage not seen here).

A glorious and moving show, captured well on DVD to enable the joy of repeated rewinding and rewatching!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not the best Take That DVD 19 Jan 2012
By edsgfs
It is ok but not as good as the Circus live DVD and there is some swearing in it from Robbie which I think they could have edited out, if the kids are around you can't really have it on as I have a 7 yr old and I don't want her listening to bad language!! If you're a true fan you will still enjoy it..

4.0 out of 5 stars Great concert but not a great Blu Ray 31 Mar 2012
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
For a Blu-Ray I would have expected a higher picture quality. There seems to be quite a lot of artifacting in some of the scenes which make for a more DVD-like picture quality.

The concert itself is well recorded and the sound quality is 100% excellent. It's a shame it was recorded on such a bright sunny evening (common problem for UK concerts as they tend to be held when the evenings are so light) as it ruins the lighting show for half the concert. I was at this tour for the opening night in Sunderland so it was enjoyable to see it up close. It would have been better if Robbie had managed to behave himself better as some of his antics and language are gratuitous. All in all it's definitely worth buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Take That Progress Live 2011 - WOW! 13 Feb 2012
By Miguel
Well, I have just received the blu-ray and WOW! It is the best show, so far, from Take That! Love it! Being a big fan since the 90's it's great to have them all back!

It is a shame that they, probably, will never come to America or to my country (MEXICO)

Also a big recognition to Amazon UK as my original order went lost during the delivery process, right after my comments to them, they re-send the order (so, this is the one I am reviewing) Thank you guys!
