This album is my most-played in my collection. No Chic-strings on this one, but the Bass-lines...phew!!! A different style to the rest of the albums, but a class-act in my view. R&B fans...this is the REAL deal(but of course it wasn't called R&B then). I can't commend this album enough... It took me years of searching to replace my worn-out cassette version with a CD. I got one, and I'm hearing things on this recording that I've never heard before. Magical! It hasn't dated. It doesn't feel very 80's, Its just as good as the first day that i bought it. There isn't a bad song on the album. Treat yourself whilst you can!

The first five albums produced by chic were the best. This one was the fifth, and very different from the ones that preceded it. No "chic strings" on this album, but great vocals, hypnotic melodies & haunting lyrics. Contrast the funky chunky "Burn hard" with a smooth balad like "just out of reach", and contrast the vocals of Alfa & Lucy, with the songs headed by Nile, Bernard & Tony. Wonderful classic Chic... but different to Risque, C'est Chic & Real people, & what a winner! Wonderful songs with strong vocals, this album has been my most played since it was released in 1982. I wore my first copy out! One of the rarer Chic albums, this album deserves the same cult status that this band enjoys!
