This is an excellent debut by this Edinburgh based band who are a breath of fresh air on the music scene. Not sure about the first track as the opening track as it is not representative of what is to come and as the weakest track is a start that may well put listeners on the back foot. What follows is a tour de force of contrasting emotional peaks that are full of surprises and fascinating instrumental variations. Excellent production and excellent vocals make the work seem very close at hand and vibrant.
Just when you think you know where this album is going another surprise/variation comes along and places it in another ballpark. On further listenings the work reveals a depth and texture that is very rewarding. Cant wait for the next one. Buy it.
