Originally released as a strictly limited edition 7" (only 1000 copies
pressed) in May 2001 on Fierce Panda records, along with a French import
CD single version (again limited to 1000 copies), Take the Long Road and
Walk It was the debut single from The Music and the song that brought them
overnight cult success. A modern classic with moody yet rousing vocals,
atmospheric guitar parts and a thunderous bass line, it has now been
re-recorded and re-released for those that missed it the first time round.
And what a difference a year makes. The new version still retains much of
the mystique and 'dirtiness' of the original, but illustrates just how
much this band have grown and developed over the past 12 months. This is a
statement of intent from a band on a mission, the sort of tune that would
raise the roof at a club or gig and leave the crowd begging for more.
If you're a fan of quality, well produced, stomping 'indie' tunes, then
you should NOT miss this. If you liked the original, you should buy it
just to see for yourself how a year of touring and recording can improve
a band. Above all, do not miss this - it's gonna be huge.
