Product Description

Vampire Nick Christos might’ve been born in the Middle Ages, but the good old days seem tame compared to the last eight years he’s spent ruling the Supernatural Council. His only respite is with his cute neighbor Casey Meyers, a woman he wants more than any undead man should. Sure, he's forced to take a cold shower after every encounter, but there’s no way he’ll test his own strength by getting too close to a human, and he’s not willing to risk her life--not with bloodthirsty family on the prowl out to ruin Nick’s life.

When said Nick’s kin shows up, the innocent Casey is caught in the middle of a centuries old fight, and Nick’s biggest fear is realized. Now, instead of keeping his hands off his neighbor, he’ll risk everything to save the human he’s come to love.

5.0 out of 5 stars HE LIVES NEXT DOOR, AND HE'S A VAMPIRE 26 May 2013
By L. Sims TOP 50 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition
Nick Christos has been around for 800 years. In all that time no one has got under his skin like his sexy neighbour Casey Meyers.
But being a vampire prevents him from getting to close to Casey who is human. He's taken more cold showers since he met Casey than he would care to remember.

Casey has no clue that Nick has it bad for her. Her history with men is disastrous. Besides she has seen the super model types that he usually has on his arm why would he look at her. She contents herself that they are friends. Then as a favour to Nick she accompanies him to a function in order to keep away the bevy of socialites who are looking to snag him as a husband. That night is the start of something that Casey couldn't have come up with even if she tried. Because after that her life is never the same again.

First read for me by this author. I am a big fan of PNR and this proved to be a real winner. The characters were well drawn and likeable. Nick is a real alpha all possessive and protective, but with a sweet vulnerable side to him. Casey was self depreciating but she did it with a lot of humour. The story is well thought out and very well written. I loved the dialogue it is witty and at times quite humorous. I would describe this as a sensuous romance, the chemistry and sexual tension was hot. I am hoping that the author is going to write Linc's story. If you enjoy vampire/human romances I recommend you give this a try.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Vampire Romance 18 Sep 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really like the vampire genre and this is a nice romance, with the additional dramas of our hero having to cope with evil supernatural creatures and the politics surrounding his role as leader of a Council. This is a more grown up story, the characters are more mature - I am so fed up with the "young adult" influx of books and found The Vampire Diaries and Twilight books terrible. The plot is pretty predictable, but I know what I am signing up for when I read books like this. It is well written and the story moves along well. I liked the characters and will read other stories by this writer.

5.0 out of 5 stars This has the trifecta!! 10 Jun 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
**Provided by Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for an honest review**

This book has the trifecta - Sass, Sex and hot alpha males.

I couldn't put this book down, literally , until it was finished. The author used some wicked lines that had me laughing out loud, much to the amusement of my husband.

Nick seems for most of the book like any other nice guy, his vampness never really seems to stand out much in the big bad world. Casey on the other hand seems to one of the shy girls who never know how beautiful they are, either inside or out. Just seeing her imperfections like the rest of us do.

The chemistry between them sizzles and, at times, I really did wish they would get it on already, and was so glad when they finally did.

5.0 out of 5 stars great fun, paranormal romance and humour 26 May 2013

Take it Like a Vamp. Candace Havens

ARC supplied by Netgalley.
Sometimes you want a solid, in depth read, and then sometimes some humour and romance is what you need. That's how I felt after finishing a fantasy trilogy recently, so Take it Like a Vamp was just perfect. Candace is an author new to me but the book description sounded fun and as I found out it was spot on. A cast of great characters, Aunt Teddy (formerly Uncle Teddy!) who lent Casey her apartment while she was abroad, Casey - who's so much like most of us, always feeling a bit overshadowed by the "beautiful" people and worrying about our weight and appearance. Nick, ah delicious Nick, Casey's friend and neighbour, and object of her inner crush. Casey thinks he's one of the "beautiful" and wouldn't look twice at her and is (reasonably) content to enjoy his friendship and dream about him in secret. Nick, he's secretly in love with Casey, though he hasn't realised yet its more than simple lust on his part. He promised Aunt Teddy he'd look after Casey and tries to keep his feelings back, not wanting to bring her into his dangerous and deadly world. The humour when Nick is faced with situations such as Casey's towel drop, or when she's sensually sucking on food! It's just great and really brought out the smiles. He's rushing back to hide his fangs and "other" obvious give-aways, and Casey thinks he's rushing away as she's embarrassed him for other reasons. That's how the scene goes until the fateful evening Nick decides to take her to an evening event he has to attend. After his supernatural pals have finished primping and dressing Casey he feels the attraction more than ever - and feels incredibly jealous when its clear others feel that way too.
