In a nut shell this work doesn't really add anything to the originals, which leaves you wondering what the point of it all is. Surprisingly the sacred ground of the Pink Floyd cover does add a Queensryche dimension to the original, which is worth listening to once or twice, and U2's 'Bullet the Blue Sky' is a lengthy treat thanks to Geoff's 'preacher' inspired extended rant. I think that the broad choice of cover material is intended to be eclectic but the straight forward take on them (be it with a slight metallic edge) and the diversity in styles results in the whole not really hanging together as a cohesive collection. Therefore this is a curiosity more than a necessity for the self respecting Queensryche fanatic, which is a shame as Queensryche could have put their unique blue print on a wide variety of material and made it, interestingly, their own.
