5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Overview of The Artist 26 July 2004
This book accompanied an excellent exhibition of Leigh Bowery's work, life and times. However, this doesn't limit it's value - if you have not seen the exhibition, you will still get excellent value from the book.

Rather than focus on autobiographical content, Take a Bowery gives the reader an excellent overview of Leigh's career, his influences, and his creative drive. The book is sectioned into different areas of his work, and there are plenty of excellent photographs, particularly some of Fergus Greer's costume portraits.

Overall this is an excellent insight into one of the most creative minds of the 20th Century - the depth of his talent is revealed as you read on.

If you are interested in the legend, or looking to be inspired this is ABSOLUTELY the place to start!
