5.0 out of 5 stars Duke Nukem (takes) Forever!, 20 Jan 2005
You will be either long dead or in a retirement home before this one sees the light of day. The Duke team are the butt of endless vapourware jokes, and why not? 9 years in development and counting, I wish I had a boss who was as understanding about deadlines as these guys have. Preordering this is like buying one of those acre on the moon certificates - something your descendents will get to see and enjoy long after you've passed on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Taking Forever But Could Be Worth It, 18 Jan 2007
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
10 years and counting but I still have hope for this game. Now that Prey is completed, 3D realms have to throw every resource they have at Duke to get it finished.
The fact they've withdrawn screenshots from their website is a positive sign, as they dont reflect what the game looks like today. A look on their website hinted that the game was entering the "polishing" stage, and could be out on 360 as well, although nothing is confirmed as usual. With any hope it could come out in 2008-9.

I was a massive fan of Duke Nukem 3D so fighting pig cops and rescuing babes again would be so refreshing after so long. All that ever seems to be available these days are countless serious/tactical FPS's. Duke Nukem Forever could be amazing.

5.0 out of 5 stars duke, 27 April 2005
you cannot pre-order the game. If you see some online store saying "We are taking pre-orders", they're just trying to get your money (they usually also make up their own supposed "insider release date info", too). There is no release date set, we are not taking pre-orders for the game. End of story.
The release date of this game is "When it's done". Anything else, and we mean anything else is someone's speculation. There is no date. We don't know any date. If you have a friend who claims they have "inside info", or there's some game news site, or some computer store at the mall who claims they know - they do not. They are making it up. There is no date. Period.

And yes, we know the game has taken a long time. There's no possible joke you could make about the game's development time that we haven't already heard. :)
