Manufacturer's Description

Borderlands 2 furthers the distinct blending of First Person Shooter and Role Playing genres to create the true evolution of the Role Playing Shooter. Team up with up to three other players for four-player online goodness or go old-school with two-player split-screen couch sharing mayhem as you spend hours leveling up your character and equipping them with one of the millions of badass weapons. Borderlands 2 features a new visually stunning array of procedurally generated guns, shields, grenades, artifacts, enemies and more. Choose one of the four new character classes to be taken through a carefully crafted and connected story to all new and surprising environments across the living planet of Pandora. Make new friends, arm them to the teeth and fight alongside them on your relentless quest for revenge and redemption.

Features:

  • Gunzerker Leads a Cast of All-New Characters and All-New Classes: Step into the role of the Gunzerker, whose highly deadly skills allow him to dual-wield any two weapons found in the game. Not only that, you will build on that skill to do more things with two guns than you ever imagined possible. Dual machine guns? Cool. Dual rocket launchers? Of course! Dual Sniper Rifles? Sure, if that’s your thing! Want to try other styles? More tactical perhaps? There are multiple classes to choose from!
  • Dynamic Co-op online, split-screen and LAN: Share your adventures with friends both online and via LAN. Borderlands 2 features a seamless system enabling you to drop in and drop out of a campaign without ever having to restart the game. On top of that you can even take your new gear from any game to any other!
  • World Connected Story: You will find yourself left for dead in the frozen tundra of Pandora as you begin your quest of revenge and redemption. Expose the evil surrounding the Hyperion Corporation and take on the perpetrator of a universe-wide grand deception -- the nefarious Hyperion CEO, Handsome Jack. (Oh, also: he's stolen credit for the opening of the Vault.)
  • New Badass Gun System: An entirely new take on the groundbreaking procedural system means millions upon millions of possible weapons. The variety and style of guns in Borderlands 2 is staggering, and you’ll see tons of new and innovative ways to engage foes on Pandora. Fire, electricity, corrosive acid, and much more will all be at your disposal as you fight your way through the Hyperion Corporation’s forces!
  • 87 Bazillion...Everything: In addition to the new gun system, you will lust after procedurally generated shields, grenades, Alien Artifacts, class mods and much, much more. And you thought the original Borderlands had a ton of loot!
  • Brand new environments on Pandora: Hunt through entirely brand new areas of Pandora that are more alive than ever! From the arctic tundra, through the dangerous grasslands, past the mysterious corrosive caverns to beyond, you’ll be surprised by the unpredictable world of Pandora at every turn!
  • Brand new enemies: A whole slew of new enemies are out there to kill you in Borderlands 2. Hulking, gorilla-like Bullymongs, vicious predatory Stalkers and the Hyperion mechanical army, run by Handsome Jack, are just some of the new enemies you will be facing off against on Pandora. New strategies will need to be created for every fight, as enemies now interact and aid each other to ensure you don’t get far in the world of Pandora.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you like Borderlands, you'll love this. 30 Sep 2012
Platform for Display:PC|Amazon Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Filled with the same humour, violence, and semi cartoon gore we've learnt to love from Borderlands 1.

Would recommend playing with friends or with others online, as can get difficult playing solo.

Otherwise, love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Purchase 22 Sep 2012

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Very pleased with this game,it has the humour, attitude and sheer playability that the likes of Rage,Duke Nukem and Crysis havent.
Its just about 20 years since Doom burst on the scene as the forerunner of the first person shooting genre. In an overcrowded market,FPS titles that stand out have become rare.I played the original Borderlands many times over quite happily as a single player,(that way the loots all mine).About four hours into Borderlands 2 im pleased to see that Gearbox have largely stuck to a winning formula.Yes it is a game so largely about the guns, theyre are millions of them and they are more satisfying than in any other FPS ive ever played.
From what ive read,Borderlands was Gearboxes breakthrough game and Borderlands 2 is the game to truely establish the company.Gearbox arent taking any chances, apparently this game is a marathon of an FPS,compared too the one weekend and done Call of Duty titles.
As much as i dislike the control Steam takes over my games i did pay the extra to ensure i would be playing it just after midnight on release day and on this occasion i think the game well lives up to the hype.

5.0 out of 5 stars Putting the Fun back into Guns 10 Mar 2013
Platform for Display:PC|Amazon Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
101 hours to complete. I did everything.
Guns, more guns, GAZZILIONS OF GUNS! This is what Borderlands is about. Your average FPS will let you carry 3-5 weapons in B2 you can carry a s*** load. There is nothing more satisfying in this game then discovering a gun that packs that certain "umph". Whether it be a corrode, shock, burn or slag weapon which can fire 2,3 even 4 bullets at once, a grenade which can have the same effects or steal health from enemies and spawn child grenades that devastate enemies. Yep guns is everything in B2.
The other stuff. Graphics are up to par i.e. they are the same as B1. Sound and music is good but overwhelmingly good is the voice acting. A LOT of time has been spent scripting these characters and finding the right voices to go with them. Everybody's favourite must be Tiny Tina a 14 year old demolitions expert who simply must have her tea party and electrocute one of the guests. Even the run of the mill NPCs have great dialogue especially their death scenes - "Tell my wife she's a b***h" or "ARGH! I'd almost finished paying off the house, s***". LOTS of humour in this game.
You start with a few missions just to get you into the feel of the world and the game mechanics. Slowly you get more and more missions, I had at least 10 pending at one point, as you get more missions the world opens up to you and it's massive.
The upgrading system is very well thought out with lots of choices - you'll find yourself really thinking what to spend your blood-soaked XP on.
Conclusion: Humorous, great upgrade system, massive game world, good graphics, excellent sound and voice acting, humorous...again, driving is ok and guns, guns, LOADS OF GUNS! I don't regret a single penny I spent on this purchase. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Game! 30 Sep 2012
Platform for Display:PC
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I can't understand who can rate lower than 4 starts on this game, I see nothing wrong with it apart from a few little glitches, what game doesn't have them? When Skyrim came out it was filled with bugs and still became game of the year, this game is filled with everything you wanted from the new Borderlands game, its amazing for what Randy did with this game, I love Gearbox even before the Borderlands games, and I'm proud to be a fan :D I have not completed the game yet because its to long! IN A GOOD WAY!

This game is not short at all, they made this game so huge I wasn't expecting it! So much content I'm happy I got the deluxe edition, for people I know who fully play the game, it took them around 60 hours to complete this game! and that was missing a few side missions by mistake!

If you want a fun/amazing game and you was a fan of Borderlands 1, you will and I'll repeat you WILL love this game, they have made everything from B1 better in everything, the driving is tight, no more getting stuck on little things, so don't listen to the other 1/2 star people, this game is what we have been waiting for :D

5.0 out of 5 stars Sequel to the original 22 Feb 2013
Platform for Display:PC|Amazon Verified Purchase
Same format, new monsters, new powers, new places, it builds on much of its former, a worthwhile play through.

Definitely a game that will last for many hours (way more than the standard 6-8 hour gameplay of other games.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fair, but repetitive 22 Feb 2013
By Shadd
Platform for Display:PC|Amazon Verified Purchase
This game is not bad at all, it's relatively fun when played with friends and it sinks your time without you noticing at first, but if you've played the original Borderlands you'll notice it's too similar to it to actually be something really new, despite the efforts to innovate it.
I appreciate the better focus on the storyline and the characters are indeed interesting, but the gameplay becomes utterly repetitive to the point that I was bored sick of it - it's no point being able to build a character in a myriad of different ways if you'll just face the same things over and over.
It is surely worth the price of a discount, but I regret buying it in preorder fashion (as most of the bonuses were actually rubbish and I couldn't play the extra character since i got bored before it even went out).

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent fun!
It's just fun, in a cartoon comedy horrendously bloody way. Excellent for LAN playing. Dark frontier humor at its best. Shoot stuff with many many guns.
