Dr Yangs form looks like a convoluted version of the standard yang form. Hes just added a taiwanese twist to it a bit of white crane kung fu. First third is a repeat of material contained in all his other books...

Dr. Yang clearly explains the principles of Qi Gong, mixing ancient believes with scientific evidence uncovered in recent years. His explanation of the Yang style Taijiquan in superb and the pictures are extremely clear.

If you practice Taijuquan seriously, this may help get a better understanding.

This is the ideal book and dvd package to learn Yang style Tai Chi Chuan from, you can learn from your own home if you get the dvd,Taijiquan, Classical Yang Style DVD (YMAA Tai Chi) Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming (Region 0), and if you have enough space to move around in.
The form will require a minimum space of 6 x 6 meters or 20x20 feet.

Roughly half the book covers theory: Yin Yang, Qi etc.

The rest of the book teaches you:
> some Qigong warm-ups
> a static tai chi form where you don't move around
> internal meditative Tai Chi or Qigong
> two shorter forms called 'the Rocking Set' and 'the Stepping Set'
> the complete long-form Yang set (although there's actually an even longer one but which is rarely taught)

The Yang form is explained with both photos and text explanations as you go along, but you really need the DVD to get any sense of movement.
Tai Chi is a very fluid style which is hard to follow from snap-shot photos.

As with all Dr.Yang's books, all the explanations are very clear.
So if you have enough space and also buy the DVD, you can diffidently learn the complete Yang forms.
