If you are looking for a book on tai chi form then this is not it. Although the 2 sections on the form are clear in their descriptions they are not so clear with the line drawings. An experienced tai chi practioner will appreciate the book and its sections on tai chi therory and principals. However a beginner would be better off seeking out a book with clearer illustrations. That said do not dismiss this book totaly it is well written and better presented than a lot of other books, its individual parts are better than its sum and many who are seeking to improve their form will gain from this.

I've looked at many different Tai Chi books and videos, but I honestly don't think I could have bought a better book. The first 30 or so pages are a great introduction and really help you get into the Tai Chi way of thinking and understand the principles of it. All the questions I wanted answers to about Tai Chi are included in the book. When getting to the 2 sections on learning the actual "forms" everything is explained in a clear and simple way; with enough detail so you know what to do, but not too much that you get confused. To a beginner like me, this book is very encouraging, and really does make learning Tai Chi a pleasure. My only regret is that I didn't come across this particular book earlier in my search for a good book on Tai Chi.

This little book is a great introduction to the basic form of Tai Chi. The illustrations and text are easy to follow, meaning that you can pick the form up in no time. All - in - all, this is a great way to start Tai Chi; and I would really recommend it to anyone thinking about taking up Tai Chi. Hope this has helped. Simmo
