As a Tai Chi instructor that has read many bad books about tai Chi (usually, but not always written by westerners), I was unsure what to expect from this one. I was worried that the author would be coming across as agressive and paranoid. However, as I read the book I was pleasantly surprised by his honesty and relaxed personal style. His insight into the true nature of Tai Chi's martial application concurred with my own experiences and beliefs. He was human, and willing to show his flaws as well as his strengths. The content comes close to the true traditions of the Eastern martial arts and amply translates them into terms that can be understood by western people. In all, I would recommend this book to any martial artist who wishes to study Tai Chi or make his or her current style come to life. There are not enough books like this in the field. Highly recommended.
