i also train with the TAGB and also feel a little disappointed with Mr read. It is common knowledge that he and a couple of his students wrote this book, It was written to replace the first edition he also put together some years ago, so to see his name on here as a student giving his opinion of the book is wrong, and should be ashamed of himself.
As for Mr Harding also giving the impression he is an unbiased student is also disappointing, but I guess he was doing as his told!!
The book was borrowed to me by a Instructor some weeks ago and is ok as a coloured belt reference but not worth buying to replace the first edition if you already have it. I still have my handbook I brought from my Instructor Master Dew, it does the job and I see no need for another

this is a must have book if you dont already have the yellow one, it helps you prepare for your gradings and is invaluable as a learning aid and guide. BEWARE only usefull if you practise ITF not WTF form of taekwondo as this is written by the T.A.G.B and is primarily for their students.

Hi, I've been a student of the tagb for some time now looking to take my Black Belt in October 2009.
The book as a reference tool is fine for gradings, but i brought the original book that Terry Read wrote and this one although laid out better, is the same book, so nothing new for when i face the BB Panel.

On a different note about the book itself, but to comments left by others.....

My Instructor Mr Wood has been drilling the tenets of TKD for sometime, so i can't understand why his Instructor Mr Terry Read is trying to distance himself from his own book in his comments written on the review created by UserID - wheres the integrity in that?
Its common knowledge that Terry and Paul wrote the book, and was 'signed off' by the 'Senior Instuctors of the TAGB' So why Towndrow is commenting on userid's review i cant understand - maybe they just can't take criticism. Makes me wonder whether i'm in the right association, maybe i should just stick to the print outs my instructor gives me for free!
