5.0 out of 5 stars A lot better than Hunt To Kill 13 Nov 2011
Format:DVD
I saw this film not too long ago. Obviously, it's one of the better films he's done since Hunt to Kill. In this one.. he plays a SWAT officer who takes on the bad guys whilst doing a routine exercise after their last job got messed up.
Whilst there, they put themselves up against two gangs caught up in a rival war over some item which we don't see.

Anyway, it has its comedic flaws, great fight sequences and a whole load of gunfire and explosions.

Special Features? Well, just interviews with Steve Austin, Michael Jai White and some other actor. Plus some behind the scenes footage as the interview goes on.

If you want to see a really good action film, check out this one..!

Watched the US import and saw a version is being released in the UK. This is explosive Stone Cold at his best! He delivers big time and leaves JW in his considerable shadow!

3.0 out of 5 stars OMG! THEY KILLED KENNY! 8 Sep 2013
By The Movie Guy TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:DVD
In the battle of Austin and Seagal I have come to believe Austin is the better actor. The movie starts out improbable as a gang of men in masks, rob a grocery store, take hostages and issue demands. A grocery store? Now I know they get robbed, but by a gang who has to share the loot? SWAT team leader Austin ignores proper police protocol and raids the place, killing the thieves, injuring the hostages, and doing huge amounts of property damage. To their surprise they are not rewarded, but are forced to take SWAT team training again. Michael Jai White, a young Carl Weathers with a BB gun is part of the team. Lexa Doig is a third member.

The upstairs of an abandoned(?) warehouse is set up with paper "bad guys" for the SWAT team to practice with simulation rounds. As fate would have it, two rival gangs are in the downstairs of the warehouse wanting "a case" which was stolen from them. One of the rival gangs learned to speak with bad Russian accents. I was waiting for one of them to say, "What about moose and squirrel."

The dialouge was mildly humorous at times, a step up from Austin's other movies. The plot left much to be desired. There were no real plot twists except at the very end...and then it didn't make much sense.

If you like Steve Austin movies, I think this was one of his better ones.

F-bomb, no sex. no nudity, no moose or squirrel.

Steve Austin's latest film is farfetched. Has a rather ridiculous plot and has some of the cheesiest dialogue you have ever heard. And that's what makes it fantastic. I loved every stupid minute of it. Everything you'd want from a b-movie action flick is in this. Over the top gun fights, outrageous villains and outlandish plot holes. Austin plays Captain Tate. The leader of a shoot first, ask questions later Los Angeles SWAT team. After the team is suspended they are assigned to undergo a re-training exercise. They inevitably get caught up in a conflict between two rival gangs. Clearly from the fact that this film stars Austin and Michael Jai White it was predictable from the start that at various moments during the film. The good guys and bad guys would run out of bullets and have to get into physical fights. Que some well choreographed fight scenes. Big kudos have to go to Lexa Doi. Who holds her own against her male leads in the action scenes. (With the added bonus of looking incredibly hot in her SWAT gear) This film will never win any awards. But anyone who is likely to sit and watch this type of film will know that already. A definite must see for Steve Austin fans.

1.0 out of 5 stars Eat my Grandma?.... 7 May 2014
Format:Blu-ray
Buff SWAT team mess up a store robbery for some reason (maybe they didn't fire enough bullets) and have to do some training at an abandoned warehouse.

Little do they know there is some deal going down by some really annoying bad guys who think it's cool to swear a lot and point guns at each other because the maker of the movie thinks this will make them look more menacing.

When one of the SWAT team gets killed, this vexes Jai White, Austin, and the Woman and they decide to save the day.

This is one of those movie that tries to be like the action movies of the late eighties/early nineties ad fails miserably.

After seeing Black Dynamite, I couldn't believe how bad Jai White was in this.

I could understand it from the rest of the cast, but he was the predominant reason why I was even considering this movie.

The film is filled with unintentionally funny dialogue, and it all feels like it's rushed, and it look cheap.

All in all, I wasn't expecting much, and I didn't get much.

I cannot comment on this because I ordered it for someone else. It is not to my liking, though, but there is no accounting for taste.

1.0 out of 5 stars oh dear...a misfire 28 Dec 2013
Format:DVD
The Condemned - yes, Hunt to Kill - yes, this one - oh no.
I am a BIG Stone Cold fan, and like his movies and will continue to watch his movies but sadly apart from him, this movie is the total s***s. Crap dialogue, so so action, MASSIVE plotholes, continuity errors - you name it - a definite one to miss alas.
