Eventually had a result. Research was borne out by observation. The mice will treat any new object with caution and very possibly ignore it if it is off their usuual run. I traced a criss cross pattern of glue onto an old saucer and smeared a little peanut butter in the middle. This was then placed in the middle of an open flattened bin liner. The rim of the saucer got a little extra glue. I left the whole thing spread out overnight blocking a known route. In the early hours I heard the bin liner rustling and saw my visitor stuck to the edge of the saucer. It wasn't too hard from there. If you don't want to get too close you merely pick up the sack and dispose of the whole thing as you see fit. In previous attempts the bait had been taken and the mouse had freed itself but the addition of the bin liner gave me the upper hand. Worth a shot.

it works well, but is super sticky. when using it , use disposable gloves! Caught quite a few pesky mice!

this is an excellent product. it does the job, its a bit messy if it gets onto your hands but white spirit soon shifts it, this glue is good for big and small rats, but cannot be used if you have pets as its detremental to them . best applied to plywood of thick cardboard
