Book Description

Following her rescue from Iraq, beautiful historian Maggie Gray has returned to the British Museum determined that the death of her mentor, Professor Clive Ashbourne, will not be in vain.

Their discovery of an ancient ziggurat deep in the heart of the Zagros Mountains threatens to rewrite history. All the evidence points to the existence of a civilisation seemingly way in advance of its time and controlled, through fear, by an intelligent race of giants. Moreover, there is the real possibility that these extraterrestrials may have mated with the indigenous population leading to the existence of living descendents who await the return of their ancestors.

Key to the power of the gods is an ancient tablet.

Maggie’s search for the mythical relic takes her on a journey back through time crossing paths with several major historical figures. Unfortunately, she is not the only one interested in its possession. With the net closing in and time running out, Maggie and Clark race across the barren plateau of Iran in search of possibly the most important and powerful relic the world has ever known. They will have to fight not just for the treasure, but for their lives.

Sequel to the Akkadian Dynasty, the Tablet of Destinies is a fascinating blend of historical fact and fiction.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Where's part 3? 21 Aug. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Come on don't keep me in suspense any longer... when will part 3 be available?

This is definately one of the best series I have read in a long time. A fast paced story with a great storyline, well written with a depth to the story rarely provided by other writers in this genre.

Well worth the price and the time spent reading.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Read ... but flawed 22 Feb. 2014

The basic storyline makes an enjoyable read but I felt it lacked polish. Many, many spelling errors and use of incorrect words. Poor research in places (is it difficult to verify that Holborn is not on the Northern Line?). Parts of the story read like amateurish travelogue details, almost felt like they'd been included to pad the story out. Annoyances, but I will still read part 3 when it arrives

5.0 out of 5 stars Tablet of Destinies 6 Sept. 2013
    By J Baulk

Having missed the first in the trilogy, the 2nd was easy to follow. A believable narrative though a very open mind is required to accept that humanity is what they author proposes. That said I wait expectantly for the last book, which though listed at the end, is not yet available. My only real criticism.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tablet of Destinies 28 Sept. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition
This was one of the most original books I've read for a long time. It was both fast moving and intriguing. The main characters were believable and the twists in the story kept my interest. It proved a great sequel to the Akkadian Dynasty and I can't wait for the third and final part.

3.0 out of 5 stars There's a good story in amongst the detail 14 Sept. 2014
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you have read the first book in the series it will be easier to follow the story. In case you haven't, the author helpfully gives a resume of the background. The professor and his wife have been killed, leaving Maggie and Clark to deal with the aftermath of the discovery of the ziggurat, and the implications of its record of Mankind's development. Not only do they have to work with various secret services, but an assassin is still on the loose trying to thwart progress, descendants of the original dynasty involved in the creation of ziggurat and the shadowy power brokers all have an interest in Maggie's progress. Whilst it is interesting to follow her progress and deductions, the reader needs to take numerous leaps in logic to keep up with her.

4.0 out of 5 stars Archeological thriller 26 Sept. 2013
    By Jeannie
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I didn't realise this was the second in a series, but at least it gives a synopsis of the first book. The story line is good, but I found the historical information too detailed and not really of much interest (this probably depends on your interest/knowledge of Middle Eastern religions, past and present). The identity of the 'baddies' was evident from the outset, and the idea of our origins is not new, but it is still a good read, and I look forward to the next book. I would recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of sci-fi mixed in with the lust for power.

4.0 out of 5 stars part two 29 Mar. 2014
    By Romulus
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Em joyed the storyline which unfortunately was full of very bad English. Don't know who proofed the boo but min fact is two words as is in front, as well and a lot. These mistakes spoiled my reading. They were moot the only faults but these were repeated so often that they became increasingly annoying. It's a pity that a writer spends so much time researching for his/her work to be degraded in this way.

I am looking forward to the conclusion of the trilogy.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 19 Dec. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I definitely give this story 5 stars, it is an excellent read, fast moving with a very good story line. Unfortunately like all American writers the spelling is atrocious. Perhaps they should use an English dictionary. This lack of proper spelling actually became rather annoying and detracted a little from the story. Nevertheless as an Historian I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good archaeological mystery.
