Some Yum for Everyone! 3 Dec 2010
By lal5510 Atlanta - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Table of Contents is yummy - there is truly something for everyone in this clever compilation of authors and what inspires them to share their gifts with us - their writings and their recipes. I love the clear, easy layout; the simple graphics; the diverse selection of authors; the listing of their works, and the wonderful little glimpses of their passions and motivations, both in word and food! Don't know what to do first, start reading or cooking!

Great for a gift - or for yourself 15 Dec 2010
By Reader-Educator - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I wasn't sure what to expect from Table of Contents, but I agree with the other reviewers. It's a delightful compilation of so many authors. There's something about the format of Table of Contents that makes me feel like I actually know each author. I think it's the combination of a picture, a list of their works by year, a short discussion of what they find inspiring and interesting, and how they get ideas for books and craft their characters. What really surprised me though is how there is something really personal about sharing a treasured recipe. Some are from the author's mom or family, some are linked to characters or settings in their books. It's a really versatile gift -- it's a good sourcebook for bookclub book selections, personal reading lists and/or recipe pairings -- and/or it's really fun to just browse.

A Delicious Literary Treat 29 Nov 2010
By Yarn Lover - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
What a surprise this book is! I was looking forward to discovering a few good recipes, but this so much more than a cookbook. I especially loved the authors' stories about their culinary and literary inspirations. I've already made a few of the recipes (Abraham Verghese's Irachi Ulathu is excellent) and can tell you, they're all good and relatively easy to prepare. The biggest problem I have with this book is deciding where to keep it - in the kitchen or on my bookshelf.
