Product Description

This short book is a memoir of a cat and her family, set in the 1960's.

Tabby was a real cat, born in 1965 to an animal loving family in a small northwest Ohio town. The family owned at least 14 cats over the years. Three of the most memorable cats were three generations of felines: mother, daughter, and granddaughter. Tabby was the daughter of Shadow, one of the earlier cats.

Tabby was given the honor of writing her story. She remembers the details of her life as if it just happened yesterday. Tabby tells about all of the author's childhood cats: Chester, born with only three legs; Fluffy, who loved to walk on the neighbor's car; and Mitzi, the meanest cat that ever lived. Also included in the book are the tales of some other family pets besides cats: chickens, a guinea pig, a white mouse, a hamster, and a gerbil. This short autobiography includes 14 photos of Tabby and her family and friends.

From the author: My cat loving friends encouraged me to write a book about my felines after I included a few cat tales in my book, "Cherished Cats and Childhood Capers". All of the stories in this book are true. Although the memories of my beloved felines have faded a bit with the passage of time, this cat memoir was written to the best of my recollection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pet's nostalgic memories 16 Dec 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a nostalgic story from a cat's point of view. I like the way the cat observes life and humans. It's different and it's warmly. The author can go through family memories with grace and delicacy. This is a great book, especially if you want to read it with your kids.

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful cat called Tabby tells her story 14 Oct 2013
By Marie S
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love tabby cats (I have one myself) and I was immediately drawn to this book by the cover. Such a beautiful cat! The book itself is a sweet, heart-warming memoir (at times quite sad) in which the cat named Tabby, who was born in the 1960s, tells her own story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Charming! 28 Jan 2014
By Wussyboy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
This is an absolutely charming little book about a cat called Tabby, written from her point of view and set back in the 60s. The writing style is easy and engaging, and the storyline underpinned with both warmth and humour. I loved that so many of the cats were named after TV shows - Tabitha and her daughter Samantha from 'Bewitched', poor 3-legged Chester from 'Gunsmoke' - and I laughed out loud when Tabby comes across the three little rodent guys - Harvey, Hector and Archie - and drily observes "they all looked delicious!" Okay, I'm a cat person, I'm an easy sell, but it's these kinds of understated touches, along with the wistfully nostalgic narrative (which evokes much more innocent times, I was a child of the 60s too) that set this book apart. Would recommend to anybody...except nasty Randy, the cat-hater!

5.0 out of 5 stars The 1960s, through the eyes of a cat! 27 Feb 2014
By Cherry - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I just had to try this book because my own tabby cat looks so much like Tabitha on the front cover, and it did not disappoint!
We see the more innocent and simpler times of the sixties through the eyes of a lovable tabby cat called Tabitha. There is humour, sadness and nostalgia as we are introduced to Tabitha's family, both feline and human. I admit that in some parts I laughed, at others I cried, and all the while I had a warm feeling as I relived my own childhood in the same era. Well done, Becky Corwin Adams. for bringing Tabitha's thoughts so vividly to life!

5.0 out of 5 stars Kitty Muse Book Reviews 15 Jun 2014
By K. Ree - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
No one can write about a cat’s life better than the cat herself. Yes, the opposable-thumbs thing can be an issue, but it seems that Tabby has overcome this obstacle. Perhaps it is because she is writing this from the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
Beginning with the cats-in-residence before her birth, Tabby relates the quirks and adventures of an entire panoply of feline personalities that graced the lives of Becky and her sister, Debbie (to whom the book is dedicated).
Some kitties lived a good, long life, and some left this earth way too soon. Debbie and Becky had at least 14 cats while they were growing up in the ‘60s, and all of them had a good life with humans who loved them. As should all cats.
There are photographs throughout the book of the two girls enjoying the company of their pointy-eared housemates. Sometimes the cats looked mellow and sometimes they looked like they could bolt at a moment’s notice. But the girls always looked delighted.
Ms. Corwin-Adams has quite a few more books that she’s written, telling tales of dogs and people alike, and I am looking forward to reading them all.
