Play as John, a private in the service of the Federation. Focus on amusing story and dynamic battles. Journey through the cosmos, upgrade your ship, make important story decisions and have fun fighting those epic bosses!

"Best Mobile Game" nominee at Game Connection Paris 2012, Selected Projects finals

John doesn't fight to rack up kills or for honor and pride. At least not anymore. He just fights to survive and get the whole thing over with. His ship is controlled by Ellie, an Artificial Intelligence which is programmed to help pilots stay mentally strong throughout the war and which cannot kill human beings.

Federation is about to turn the tide of the war but then things start to go wrong. Ellie puts John into hibernation for 1000 years. Now he will have to discover what really happened and maybe, but just maybe, save the galaxy.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! 25 Jun. 2014

Very impressed with this game. Really pushes android gaming to the limit. Like a cross between the arcade/playstation Starblade and Galaxy on Fire 2. Gameplay is via configurable on screen controls and in the "rail shooter" category, completing missions in SPECTACULAR, cinematic 3d environments. Sound is also great especially with headphones. The graphics are really top notch, and I have them set to low. Screen full of explosions, plasma, huge ships, caverns...etc. The only negative is I have got through seven of the ten missions already, and they seem fairly easy (unless more are unlocked later), however game can be replayed at harder level, and your gonna want to play it through more than once! Besides 10 missions is about standard for a 300mb game and it only costs 2quid. And best of all

ABSOLUTELY NO IN APP PURCHASES!!!!!

Did I mention the incredible graphics??

3.0 out of 5 stars would be a great game if it wasnt for…… .. 12 July 2014

The fact that you are stuck in super long and hard battles from the get go! There is no learning curve here well not that much of one is needed but it's a lot like being trust into a level 10 battle when your only level 1 or 2. They don't get gradually harder they just are that way. It would be an awesome game if they tweeked it a tad.

Star Horizon has great graphics and fun game play! Using a Bluetooth Nyko controller with no problem on a HTC One device. Some say it's a bit to short but I disagree based on the simple fact it's a mobile game. However, Star Horizon does leave you asking for more of its great graphics and excellent game play!

4.0 out of 5 stars great game 13 Jun. 2014

One of the best I've played on android. Above average graphics and the game seems quality. To me its a mix of stardom and mass effect. Gamers might not agree but from a casual standpoint I enjoyed it. 3.99 is a tad steep for the length and replay ability. I can't help but fell like the story was shortened in order to get the game to market more quickly. Might just be expecting too much.

anyway I'd rate it as a buy and try. If you enjoy this style of game this is the best Android option I've seen.

Would like to see expanded story and or more storyline options. Also ship upgrades....
3.0 out of 5 stars Fun game -- controller support is lacking at best 12 Jun. 2014

I played through the first two missions on my Shield in handheld mode and the game ran great. Good effects, solid gameplay, and the difficulty curve seems to scale well.

However, I put my Shield into Console Mode and everything fell apart. The game appears to not recognize any analog sticks other than the ones built onto the handheld itself -- making it impossible to play the game with any other controller. I tested this using the Amazon Fire controller, the Nyko Playpad Pro, the OnLive Gaming Controller, and a GameStop brand Bluetooth controller. I have not experienced this issue in any other controller game from Amazon (tested in Riptide GP2 and Reaper: Tale of a Pale Swordsman), so I suspect something is wrong with this game's controller detection.

I plan on continuing playing this game on the go, but I am disappointed that I can't play it on my couch. I will update this review if the app is updated with proper controller support.
4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but short 11 Jun. 2014

Great controls, great graphics, choose your, own adventure. However, way too short for pay app. Worth 0.99, but not higher. Wish dev could add more levels. Worked great on Note 3 w/ 4.4 kitkat.
