Product Description

The Hurricane series from TYR represents the combination of a huge amount of time and effort in development and engineering. This is to ensure the end result is as competitive and high performing as possible. The C1 wetsuit has the same features as the rest of the Hurricane series, but everything has been scaled down for a more streamlined shape in the water. TYR has collaborated with Ironman Champion Andy Potts to create this lighter version wetsuit. It may not be as advanced as the C1 and C3 versions, but is lighter, slimmer and suited to aspiring athletes. The Free R.O.M zones mean that there is a huge amount of flexibility and that your stroke and other movements won't be impeded. The Speed Wrap Panelling is made from extremely lightweight Yamamoto neoprene and situated on the leg and chest to keep you buoyant in the water and reduce drag. All these features create a launch pad to cut through the water with low levels of friction, rigidity and weight; propelling you through the water and onto the next leg. While the entire outside surface of the suit is coated in Yamamoto Nano SCS rubber for greater buoyancy, the interior is made from a soft-jersey fabric making you feel comfortable on the inside. Key details have been followed right to every edge of these suits. The cuffs at the wrists are form-fitting, enabling you to stretch for long, powerful strokes without the suit moving, or allowing water to get inside, as it hugs to your skin. At the ankles, there are quick-release cuffs that are tapered down the leg; these allow the suit to reverse and open quickly during your transition from T1. While the graded panels running down the forearm help aid catch-and-pull strokes. This is a suit that supplies all the features required by an athlete. Everything is focused on getting the job done as quickly as possible, with the smallest effort. As the first stage of a triathl

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly made wetsuit - worse customer service by TYR 9 July 2013
By Liz Kessler - Published on
This expensive and supposedly made-to-exacting-standards wetsuit tore in four places during its first two days of use. I am 5'5" and 125 lbs and should have been able to wear the small, small/medium, or medium. I am at the very small end of the medium range, and I was given the medium as a gift. I have incredibly short nails, and have been putting on wetsuits as a diver for 15 years. The rubber outer layer ripped off of the inner neoprene in several places. The wetsuit was also difficult to zip and difficult to get off. TYR claims it has a strong warranty for damage within one year of purchase, yet TYR refused to repair or replace the item. TYR claims that this use (putting on the wetsuit) was beyond normal wear and tear. If you need a triathlon wetsuit, try another manufacturer.
