  • The TSOAG9 is an extremely low profile off axis guider for astro imaging. It is particularly suited when using image correctors with a limited back focus (coma correctors, field flatteners) that would otherwise prohibit the use of an OAG.
  • Adaptation for Canon EOS is included. (The camera is NOT included.) Effective length of the OAG: only 10mm including the EOS adaptation. Taking into account the short 2" stub the length is 12.2mm
  • Thread for the guiding camera: T2 (M42x0.75). Thread on the telescope side: M48x0.75 (2" filter thread)
  • The guiding camera can be focused independently from the main camera. By sliding the prism in and out it is very easy to find a suitable guiding star.
  • Recommended adaptor in order to connect the OAG to correctors or telescopes with T2 thread: BA2458110 or TST2-M48L

Advantages of Off-Axis Guiding:

-- No mechanical flexure between main and guiding telescope can possibly ruin the tracking accuracy if you use an off axis guider.

-- The load for the mount is much reduced. There is no need for a guide scope and the setup will remain more compact.

-- You work with the main telescope's resolution and focal length, not with the typically lower resolution of a guide scope.
