When asked what type of body they want, men often say: "Have you seen Brad Pitt in Fight Club?" Well, if that's you, this is the kit you need.
Sure, it's expensive - but are you telling me you're not worth the money? TRX is by far the best total body work out I've ever had and it trains me in a way that I love - Isometrics - using your own body weight and gravity.
This, to me, seems totally natural and the best way to get the kind of result I want: Lean muscle. You don't see lions and tigers lifting weights, but they always look sleek, buff and have the strength of a... well, lion.
In the army, that's what we trained for. Lean muscle. And I certainly don't want to be a big hulking meat head, who is a slow lumbering lump with arms as thick as tree trunks. What's the point? It slows you down and means you have no cardio...
Plus I don't want inside thighs that chafe when I walk.
What I want, is layer upon layer of thin, functioning muscle. That way, I look ripped but not freakish, and am twice as fast and three as strong as any 'roid head could ever hope to be.
TRX exercises can be used to hit every muscle group and give you a killer core work out too - essential for developing strength in every other part of your body. For me, the TRX is simply unbeatable at this.
You get a good selection of training DVDs, but I think it's worth going to a few classes first too - just until you get the hang of things. You'll also probably be pushed further than you'll push yourself at home... and boy, then will you know what this thing is capable off.
The first time I used it, my chest and biceps got such a good work out I couldn't straighten my arms and they were left permanently bent at a 45 degree angle for days! I also couldn't dress myself or touch my nose without bending my head at the neck!
TRX is versatile, easy to use (but not!!!) and will leave you in the best shape of your life. It's portable, and more effective than anything else I've ever tried. The range of exercises you can do is virtually limitless and they're twice as gruelling too.
Also, How many garages and spare rooms have a weights bench in them that's not being used? How many people buy a treadmill, or a set of weights, only to loose interest 6 months down the line? We'll at least the TRX system can be packed away and shoved under the stairs when you loose your drive, then brought out again when the next wave of 'gotta get fit and hench' hits you.
TRX is a revolutionary item. It gives a revolutionary work out and it will revolutionise your body and the way you train. Wimps need not apply!
UPDATE:
Since writing this review I have kept up my TRX classes and went on to buy my own system for the home - however, for varying reasons I chose to buy a system called Rip:60 over the TRX. As good as TRX is, I think the Rip:60 system has the edge, so you might want to read my review of that item too before making your choice.
My Rip:60 suspension trainer reviewHowever, whichever suspension trainer you go for, rest assured you're in for a great workout and a whole new way of training - there's nothing else like them! TRX or Rip:60, just make sure you get one.
