This review is from: TRUST SC-5500P 5.1 EXTERNAL SURROUND SOUND CARD (Accessory)
This product works very well, however the issue that I had was that the set-up instructions that come with the product are incorrect. Go to the Trust website www.trust.com and download the most recent drivers onto your computer. Then plug into the USB and then install the new hardware as per your computer wizard. The user's manual is totally wrong.
The product itself functions perfectly well. Worth the price but remember to disregard the set-up instructions.

Just the job.,

This review is from: TRUST SC-5500P 5.1 EXTERNAL SURROUND SOUND CARD (Accessory)
I bought one of these cards recently through Amazon and I was looking for something portable, cheap and handy. I got all three in one go.
I was expecting to pay twice what I paid and I wasn't expecting to get 5.1 Surround Sound thrown in. As a musician and composer, I wanted something that I could use to plug my synth keyboard into my laptop and get down to some recording and this was just the job in that the sound quality is fine, the facilities give me everything I need to do the job and the card fits neatly into the laptop case. Humble muso, if you're looking for the kind of solution that I needed, this is the answer. It's just the job!

I generally agree with ShineBella - the instructions are all wrong, check the internet. Apart from that, there were no set up problems, The driver included is quite good too. In fact, when it wants to work the sound card works well too, but at roughly £20 it is just a cheap sound card and I'm not the only one to complain here of a crackling which kicks in after a couple of hours of the sound card being in operation. Up to this point it sounds nice, but once the crackling starts all other sound is drowned out and you need to restart the computer to regain sound which is very annoying if watching a film. My verdict? Low price, low quality - a waste of money. Don't be stingy, pay the extra £15 for a Creative sound card that won't die on you.
