Don Williams had one of the most recognizable voices and faces on British TV and Radio during the 1970`s and 80`s. Then music tastes changed and less and less of the smooth, laconic Mr Williams was heard.
This collection of two albums harken back to the latter part of his initial success. Quality shines through with every word of every track. "New Moves", is as the title suggests a slight departure from the easy listening pure country of his earlier albums, there is even a saxophone featured. Some of the tracks are almost "standard" type songs, others are faster paced pop/country songs. All handled brilliantly with all lyrics (though none of his own) heard in full. Album number two, "Traces" carries on in the same vein, only in my opinion, is a little more country. The quality shines through nonetheless.
A thoroughly worthwhile addition to any collection, and I wait with anticipation to see which of his great albums are being made available next. Thank you BGO Records for a job well done.
