I connect this router to my NAS through a cable for wireless access to the NAS from my laptop, while running as client router to access internet through main AP provided by my landlord to all tenants in the building. This setup works perfetly.
Originally there are three wireless mode to choose from. There is a firmware upgrade from manufacturer's website which will allow for 5 mode:
Wireless Client Router
Wireless AP/Router
Wireless AP/Repeater
Wireless AP/Bridge
Wireless Client
Easy setup is easy to follow and there is one very important thing: better set the router's ip address to something very different from 192.168.1.1, which is the standard default setting for routers, in order not to conflict with other router's in the network. Otherwise the router won't show up in the wireless connection list. In order to keep the drives in my NAS appear as normal network drive in my windows explorer, in the router configuration interface I preserved a certain ip and map it to the mac address of my NAS so that the path remains the same after the router restarts, the laptop restarts or I switch between different networks then it reconnects. Bridge mode will allow others connected to the main AP able to access your NAS so be careful.
A little experience to share: if somehow you cannot connect to the router, through cable or wireless, try uninstall the network adapter and windows will install the driver automatically and give a fresh start which may solve the problem.
A very handy device at a very good price, most importantly, it well does the job!!! Highly recommended!!!
