Cheap and cheerful 13 July 2008
Bought this since it was cheaper than the a/b/g one. Works well with netgear DG843G router on acer XP laptop. Doesn't *seem* faster than the broken linksys it replaced but it does seem to negotiate and connect more quickly. Works under XP or TP-Link control with WPA / tkip.
These kind of devices are now a commodity item and this works just fine. It also comes with 98/ME and Vista drivers but I haven't used them.

Don't be decieved 22 Aug 2008
Don't be decieved by the low price of this item. It works well, and much better than some well-known brands that I have tried. I was pleased that it boasted WPA encryption and delivered.
One note of caution. My laptop runs WinXP SP3 and there was a conflict with the supplied management software. When I installed and chose the option to "load drivers only" the device worked like a dream.

Nice slim profile with just the black plastic section protruding. I guess this is the aerial part but it also includes two lights that signify power up and contact with the hoast. Good range at my location with contact to a free broadband five houses down the road. Running on IBM Thinkpad G40 with XP but I only loaded the drivers because using the supplied TP-Link Utilities just caused confusion and I eventually gave up after a lot of cursing. In spite of this I give the device 5 Stars because it doesn't protrude very much, has no effect on the PC speed, has a very good range and works so easily when run by Windows. Better than using a USB device by far.
