arrived 3 days after placing order, so 5/5 for that, great wifi dongle with good overall coverage, helped by the interchangable sma high gain (4 decibels ) antenna, the casing is cheap however, and may break or shatter if dropped or stood on, tp link are a budget brand, hence the build quality, but use the same chipsets as everyone else, this dongles strength is that you can plug in stronger antenna for a better signal, 10 and 12 decibel variants are on this site for around a tenner, so invest in one of them if you buy this product and you will have great reception, I use the tp link outdoor 10 decibel antenna to pick up the local pub's wifi, over 750 feet away. £7.33, for an upgradable usb wifi dongle, delivered free in 3 days..WIN...

My PC suffered from a weak Wireless signal. This adapter is perfect if you have a weak wireless signal as it has an external aerial to improve wireless reception. I used to have a wireless PCI card which kept disconnecting from the internet frequently and I bought this TP-LINK adapter and I have had no problems ever since I installed it.
It installs on windows 7 with no problems and uses Windows Wireless Utility instead of TP-LINK's utility software supplied on the CD. On Windows XP I would reccomend using the Windows Wireless Utility as TP-LINK's utility software is quite technical and I found it near impossible to use.
The adapter comes with a USB cable to use as an extension such as to place on top of your PC. I found that plugging the adapter straight into a USB socket can be difficult due to its size as it can block the other USB ports so you cannot plug any other USB devices into them. I opted to use the extension cable and place it onto the top of my PC tower and it works perfectly well.
When I had the old PCI card installed I had a 'poor' Wireless signal (one or two bars). I installed the TP-LINK adapter and I immediately achieved an 'excellent' signal (four or five bars).
I highly reccomend this adapter to anyone that suffers with a weak wireless signal.

I got this particular adapter as i shopped for it while on the phone to a very nice man from BT. I pride myself on the fact I can wire up just about anything TV's DVD players HiFi computors ect. but when it comes to anything to do with wireless I just can't get my head around it. I'm getting a notebook for Christmas so need to be wireless so I called BT for help, they were great the guy talked me through how to check if my computor was wireless, it wasn't. I had no idea what to look for so he helped me choose an adapter through Amazon that works with vista and he rated this one as very good so I went for it. I am so pleased with how easy and fast it was to set up I have been forced into reviewing it here. I connected it to my computor at 10.45am and am sitting here typing now at 11.05am. It's brill, the only thing that confused me is I followed all the instuctions and at the end it didn't actually tell me 'you are now wireless' but thats just me, I need that simplicity. I have checked my network status and it tells me my wireless connection is great so that does me. Will have to wait till Christmas to find out how it works with my netbook so fingers crossed.
