This adapter is listed on the UK Linux as working out of the box.

This is what it did I was using Peppermint-One.

Note the indicator lights do not work but the unit works fine.

It replaced my old PEAK card which kept dropping the link in Linux but no problems with the new card.

Worth the money.

This is an Atheros 5k card which nowdays has drivers in all OS-es including the various linux flavours.

On the positive side: It works out of the box even on non-Intel kit (typing this on a mac powerbook).

On the negative side: activity lights are not working properly and the antenna has a rather wimpy gain compared to most modern built-ins. It also persists in setting CN as the regulatory domain under Linux because the card EEPROM says so. That is quite annoying as this does not allow all channels for EU and proper power level for US. It also violates regs for Spain and a few other countries which have channel restrictions.

Overall a solid 4 out of 5.

I wanted to breath life into a very old dell latitude PP01L laptop by installing Ubuntu 10.10. The laptop had no wifi, so I got this card as the cheapest way of doing it. Ubuntu found the card and worked first time. simple, cheap and effective.
