Product Description

What This Product Does

Indoor desktop omni-directional antenna TL-ANT2405C operates in the 2.4-2.5 GHz band and provides 5dBi omni-directional operation, which largely extends the wireless range and delivers much better wireless performance. The antenna offers the RP-SMA Female connector guaranteeing wider compatibility with most of the wireless equipment’s.

Replacing your Wi-Fi antenna with TL-ANT2405C will significantly increase the range and strength of your Wi-Fi signal. This quality built omni-directional antenna is a direct replacement for the antenna that comes standard with your router, access point. Because it is omni-directional, no aiming is required - it can send and receive Wi-Fi in all directions.

Easy To Use

Installation is very easy - just detach your device's factory antenna and attach our booster antenna and you'll experience an instant increase in signal coverage and stability. Please note that the increase in signal strength depends mostly on your router or adapter; upgrading the antennas helps but the signal cannot transmit or receive at a level that your modem or adapter does not have.

Features

∙ Compliant with 802.11n/b/g (2.4GHz)

∙ 5dBi signal gain

∙ 130cm low-loss extension cable

∙ RP-SMA Female connector

Good one. Though I bought it thinking that I would need one, it was not needed as my other purchase (TP-Link TL-WN781ND 150Mbps Wireless PCI Express Adapter) was enough to serve my purpose. I checked the signal strengths of 4 connections wihtout and with this antenna. They were improved as below:
4 -> 5 (mine on the same room)
4 -> 5 (neighbour's)
3 -> 4 (neighbour's)
1 -> 4 (neighbour's)

I had hoped that this Antenna would improve the wireless signal from my router to the second computer upstairs but didn't notice any significant improvement.

I recently bought this after suffering about 6 months of poor reception in my current residence as the router is on a different floor.

Performance was good, partly because you can move it away from your PC and other electrical items to lessen interference and it's not stuck behind a computer chassis. As an added performance tip, check the "channel" of your neighbours' wifi networks and change yours to an empty one if possible. This also aids in wireless network performance if you're having a lot of drop outs.

Arrived promptly and well packaged. I was a bit unsure as to whether it would connect to my card, but they all seem to be a standard fit, so there was no problem. Cable was a little short, but with a magnetic base, it sat on top of my tower with no problems and if I remember radio theory correctly this should (and did) help.

It raised my reception by 1 bar*, but then I'm in a 150 year old house, the opposite side of the house and a floor up and I am now getting 3-4 bars all the time. Main change I've noticed is that I am maintaining the strength (3-4) rather than suffering the occasional dip in power. So its not done anything "amazing", but its helped with 1 bar AND I was able to play Diablo 3 during launch fortnight... which is an achievement for someone with direct access to a T1 backbone... never mind a "10mb if you're lucky" copper pair offering such as myself.

So, it did the job well, not awesomely, but as well as I had hoped, especially considering the price.

*Connecting to an O2 router.

I removed the small plastic Wi-Fi Ariel on my desktop PC that could manage only a 1 bar wireless signal on a good day, and no signal at all on most other days.

I replaced it with this one in and observed an instant improvement in my wireless performance. A minimum of 3 bars all the time.

I can now get on with using my PC without any comms problems at all.

Brilliant.

I have a tablet with poor WiFi reception and a TL-WA701N Access Point - this antenna never improved the signal strength - mostly I'm better off with the stock antenna.

(Win XP) It boosted my internet from very low to excellent, allowing me to receive my full 10mb/s from 10m away through 2 floors as i am in the attic. My ping is also excellent, as it normally hovers around 30, while previously it was normally atleast 90 (at worst 200). Has vastly improved my connection, recommend highly for the price.

My family uses half a dozen different wifi devices, and because they have limited wifi I've had to move the rooter, leaving me with the low signal at the other end of the house, so I bought one of these and promptly doubled my signal. I was so impressed I bought another and the signal jumped again. I've since ordered a third, all for my TP Link 3 ariel wifi card,
not that I really need the extra signal, but they are so cheep; Why Not!
