The TL-SG1024 24-Port Gigabit rack-mount switch provides an easy way to make the transition to Gigabit Ethernet. All 24 ports support auto MDI/MDIX so there's no need to worry about the cable type. Moreover, with innovative energy-efficient technology, the TL-SG1024 is an ideal eco-friendly solution for your business network. Featuring 24 10/100/1000 Mbps ports, the TL-SG1024 greatly expands your network capacity, enabling instant large file transfer.

The TL-SG1024 features non-blocking wire-speed architecture with a 96 Gbps switching capacity for maximum data throughput, and an 8K MAC address table provides scalability for even the largest networks. It also supports 802.3x Flow Control for full-duplex mode, and back pressure flow control for half-duplex mode alleviates traffic congestion and ensures reliable data transmission. This new switch features the latest innovative energy-efficient technologies that can greatly expand your network capacity with much less power. It automatically adjusts power consumption according to the link status and cable length to limit the carbon footprint of your network.

When a computer or network device is off, the corresponding port of a traditional switch will continue to consume considerable amounts of power. The TL-SG1024 can automatically detect the link status of each port and reduce the power consumption of ports that are idle. The TL-SG1024 also analyses the length of the connected cable and adjusts the power usage accordingly, rather than keeping the power consumption in a conventional solution.

The auto features of this gigabit switch make installation simple and hassle-free, no configuring is required. Auto MDI/MDI-X crossover on all ports eliminate the need for crossover cables or uplink ports. Auto-negotiation on each port senses the link speed of a network device (either 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps) and intelligently adjusts for compatibility and optimal performance. The compact size makes it ideal for desktops with limited space, while it is also rack-mountable, convenient and safe. Dynamic LED lights provide real-time work status display and basic fault diagnosis.

Good reasonably priced gigabit switch 17 Sep 2011

This device was needed for our office as we were relying on 5 port gigabit switches daisy-chained together that really didn't do the job. I looked around for a while to find this - the price was important, but as was the easy of use. I needed something that everyone could understand (i.e. just plug it in and it works) and this is perfect. It does make a little bit of a noise but nothing any louder than a normal computer - it's just a fan!! Overall I'd recommend this product. It's very reasonably priced and works great!

well i'd say i'm a light to medium user with the actual internet and network traffic that is going through this switch. Condisering the price and that this is a 1 Gigabit switch you really can't complain when the competition charges at least double the price for anything remotely similar.

so far 1 month and ZERO problems!

We needed this for a small office of about 20 people in order to quickly replace an existing device that we suspected might be going wrong (it wasn't as it happened, but this device was a simple and cheap way to supplement our network). It worked well, straight out of the box, without hassle and has given no problems whatsoever. So far, it looks like good value.
