But it does get crazy (need reboot) as others after a long multi-connection use. I am sure for home usage is perfect though, really strong signal.

This is frankly useless. It causes network conflicts and it doesn't succeed in reaching a cabin in the garden about 30m away in a clear line of sight. Don't buy one.

Great Range Extender 6 May 2012

The TP-Link WA830RE Wireless N Range Extender does just what it says -- it extends the range of your Wireless Router. I initially ordered one of these to extend the range of my wireless router to an area of my house that was only receiving two bars on my computer. Once I set the Ranger Extender up, which was extremely easy, my desktop and my wife's laptop started receiving the full five bars wireless single strength. My own laptop at the other end of the house was not receiving a strong signal either, so I ordered a second TL-WA830RE range extender and the wireless signal immediately went to the full five bars as soon as I set up the range extender. If you are not receiving the full strength of your wireless signal, you need to purchase this range extender. Reasonable price and quick shipment from the seller using Amazon.com.

Works Well 27 July 2012

I've used a few range extenders, this one is by far the best I've come across. It's easy to set up and it hasn't given me any problems at all since I got it a few months back.

Contrary to the negative review, this range extender does support WPA and WPA2. TP-Link's website states the following:

Wireless Security:
64/128/152-bit WEP
WPA / WPA2
WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK

I'm also running mine on WPA2, and it has been working well since the initial setup. I was originally worried about making this purchase because there was only one positive review at the time, but this range extender was worth the investment.

Drops Internet at least once a day and needs power reset to connect again. 2 Jan 2014

Have this connected to a TP-Link WR1043ND router wirelessly. The 1043ND has worked flawlessly for a year and is an excellent router. The WA830RE, not so much. It drops the internet connection at least once a day and I have to turn it off/on to get it to reconnect. It was easy to set up, with the push of a button, to my WR1043. I have searched the net trying to find a solution and found a lot of people having the same problem. I could not find anyone that had actually got a solution to the problem. I thought I had it fixed by setting it to ping my router every couple of minutes in order to keep it busy during the night which is generally when it loses connection. But, it lost connection again last night. With the Ping turned on, it is down to 1 reset per day now, but this is unacceptable. I have tried every different combination of settings that is possible, to no avail. I hate to have to go thru the problem of sending back to Amazon since it is not their problem. But, it doesn't work. I know TP-Link is aware of this issue since folks have been reporting it since it was released. But there has been no firmware revision since this V2 version was released in March 2012. So I imagine it must be a hardware and not a software issue.

Easy to use and gave me a SOLID 5 Bars ! 1 Aug 2013

I like TP-link products above all other like Network device manufactures because of its ease of use, dependability, support, cost, and consistant high quality products. Being a Computer Tech for since 1992 I have worked with every manufacturer out there, and TP-Link outshines them all. No matter your level of experience TP-Link should always be your first choice.
