I was in two minds whether to get a wireless booster on use the mains wiring to create a new wireless point upstairs. I have Virginmedia, which came originally with a modem and wireless router. I then upgraded to the "Superhub" which is located where the modem was, not convenient for the complete house, as it was positioned in the far corner of our house. Our wifi signal was rubbish. I chose this bridge with the wireless power line extender. You need both units to expand the wifi, this unit plugs to your socket connects to the Superhub via a LAN cable, you can either use another of the same module to connect to another fixed PC or device, or use the TL-WPA281 wireless model as I did.
I would strongly recommend a starter kit as this way it is cheaper, I stupidly bought the TL-WPA 281 on its own thinking it did the whole job and then bought this module which would be in the starter kit.

Does what it says on the box. I now have 3 of these and they all work very well. If the wireless signal is not good the homeplugs are a possible answer. Simply connect one to the router and the other to any ethernet ready device. I have one connected to a PS3 and one to my sony blu ray player. All work well. Cant recommend this product enough!

Very reliable with good transfer speeds. I also liked the monitoring software that came with them. I then had two that suddenly died overnight. Being an electronics engineer my curiosity compelled me to open them up. The cover screw is hidden under the manufacture's label on the back. You then have to carefully prise them apart, the white top is clipped in several places.
The electrolytic capacitor that smooths out the internal DC supply had popped on both of my adapters ( bad batch ?). I changed both, (1500uF 6.3V) . Now they are working again after a factory reset using the software that came with them.

Installed TalkTalks catchup service and as our router is some distance away used this to wirelessly connect. Works perfectly also connects to the internet in my shed 100 feet away effortlessly even though we have poor broadband coverage.

Excellent piece of kit, should have bought one years ago. 5 minutes to set up (this includes removing all packaging). Broadband speed in the room at the back of my house went from 2Mb to 25Mb/sec

I bought three of the TL-PA211 in Aug 2012.

First up, the networking speeds I got were fine, even for streaming video. I have no problem with the product other than its durability.

The first one died after about 12 months, but I put this down to moving it to a location with poor ventilation and it overheating. As I'd run an ethernet cable to my office (by far the most reliable networking option) I only needed two so wrote off the broken one.
I've now had another one die, so that one lasted 18m, and it was well ventilated. The dead adapter humms quietly when plugged in, so power is getting to some of the circuit, but it's unresponsive and none of the lights come on. I'm guessing something has burnt out in the AC-DC transform.

I can see that TP-LINK now have some "nano" versions of this product for around £14 a pair. Given the cost to replace the failed units I won't complain to much, but I would expect them to last more than 18 months.

I was sent the wrong product.this is a european version shown in the picture. The uk version they send is the same product no but a different version that doesnt do wireless.. think its decribed as nano. I wanted this product but with uk style plugs. I complained to the company that sent this piece of crap. They did nothing but just blamed amazon for putting up the wrong picture.. a complete ripoff of 60 pounds for the 3 that i ordered.
