Having been on several bike 'tours' with friends of mine I can thoroughly recommend the 'active charger'. Whereas my friends also had Tomtom satnavs they did not have the Active Charger which meant that although the units when charged were supposed to last 8 hours before they needed to be recharged, in practice they did not last 8 hourse. This meant that my friends were constantly bringing their charger leads into restaurants and cafes and asking the waiter or waitress if they would plug them in for them (embarrassing).
Not so with the Active Charger. In fact, I did not bring a mains charger with me as there was no need. Simply slot the Tomtom unit onto the Active Mount turn on and away you go.
