5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Joy From Norway 20 Mar 2012
By The Wolf TOP 100 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
There's a song on this cracking little album which really did make
me want to jump up and down with joy (so I did, despite Mrs Wolf's
incredulous sideways glances!) 'With My Hands Covering Both Of My
Eyes I Am Too Scared To Have A Look At You Now', despite its unwieldy
title, is the kind of number which will make your hair stand on end
if you open up and let it (and that's a lot of hair when it comes to
yours truly!) Team Me are a young Norwegian quintet whose new album
ticks all the boxes when it comes to youthful exuberance and creativity.

In Marius Drogsas Hagen they have a very fine front man. He knows a
lot about crafting a good tune and sings with passion and power despite
his somewhat elfin vocal delivery. The melodies sparkle; the harmonies
swoop and swoon and the rest of the ensemble give their all in support
of their leader's singular vision. Drummer Bjarne Ryen Berg also deserves
a special mention for the formidable energy and dexterity with which he
manages his kit ( he gives Finnish percussionist Samuli Kosminen a run
for his money!) Jonsi Birgisson's 2010 album 'Go' certainly comes to mind
from time to time in the band's rich sonic arrangements and complex
rhythmic structures but there is also a pop sensibility present in these ten
immensely accessible compositions which transcends "art house" music and
goes straight for the jugular of pure unbridled enjoyment. Give it a couple
of plays and I bet you'll soon be singing along with your hands in the air!

There honestly isn't a bad egg in the box. Do give it a go!

Highly Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scandinavian genius 24 Mar 2012
Format:MP3 Download|Amazon Verified Purchase
Love this album! Patrick Wolf quite rightly gets a name check here, but other comparisons can be made to Mew, a little MGMT, Polyphonic Spree, and maybe an upbeat Sigur Ros / Jonso. Great production, songs, lyrics. Just buy it! Look forward to seeing them live.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great debut album 8 April 2013
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a delightful listen, the songs are full of energy, melodies and variation. Saw them live a year ago and the songs really stuck in my head, as did the energetic performance. Finally got hold of the album, which did their live show justice.
