Modern engines are finely tuned and extremely sensitive to deposits that build-up in the fuel/air induction systems. Varnish, PCV deposits and other accumulated contaminants will interupt air flow disrupting the critical fuel/air ratio. This will result in problems such as rough idle, poor fuel economy and increased exhaust emissions.
BG Throttle Body and Intake Cleaner is a blend of cleaning agents which will safely and rapidly remove accumulated deposits from the air throttle body assembly. It also combines lubricants and anti-corrosion agents which protect these critical components. Perfectly safe and non corrosive to intake components. Also safe on oxygen sensors and catalytic converters.
BG 406 contains 7 different solvents to remove all known types of carbon. That is why it is considered the best and used professionally in the trade.
Comes in a large 418g aerosol can with straw - suitable for multiple cleaning cycles. This is simply the best we have tested and is suitable for all intake and recirculation components such as the EGR for example.
Run engine to normal operating temperature.
For petrol engines this product can be sprayed (in short bursts only) directly into the intake (after the MAS/MAF) whilst the engine is running. It may be necessary to increase the revs during this operation.
Also remove the intake hose and spray directly into the intake/throttle body. It may be easier to loosen the intake hose and direct the straw into the intake stream. This will allow the engine to run a more stable idle.
Please note that due to the risk of hydrolock, this product CAN NOT be sprayed directly into the intake of diesel engines, running or otherwise. Athough very effective on diesel engines, it is necessary to remove the intake components (intake pipes, manifold, throttle body, EGR system etc.) and clean such parts manually.
