4.0 out of 5 stars A bit of a laff 27 July 2003
I dont get it. Every review i have read of this game has given it a terrible score, one was 1.5 out of 10! I tell you now-this game is not that bad! There are moments of minor frustration, but other than that it is a great wrestling game. The rosters are a bit outdated, but that doesnt make this a bad game. Striking moves knock your oppenent down, grapples look great and specials look even better. The graphics are INCREDIBLE and will blow your mind. Entrances are scarily realistic and the music is great. The main feature of this game is the create-a-wrestler mode, which is the best one ive seen in any game yet. You can customize ANY part of the wrestler you want. Make a few funny wrestlers, invite some friends over and you'll have a whale of a time (multiplayer is great). Sure, there may be a lack of match types, but you can still put people through tables and whack people with chairs. Sure, it may be slow moving, but it is great fun to play. And sure, the rosters are outdated, but you can make your own! I urge you! This game is not as bad as people say! Tell the people! I say this once, there is nothing funnier than seeing stone cold steve austin giving as stone cold stunner to an 8 foot tall yellow panda with a bazooka. I dont like wrestling, but love this game. BUY IT NOW!

2.0 out of 5 stars Ignorance is Bliss ! - for this game 19 Feb 2004
The game starts off as a regular WWE title with a wwe syle intro but once you get to the menus, do you know - "something's wrong" !
This game is based on the "Press, play and lose" feature. The game is infact quite similar to 'WWF Attitude on PS1' - Slow paced gameplay, Comparitively imppresive Graphics, Difficult to Perform moves!
The gameplay of Raw on the Xbox is amazingly Slow paced and you wish you could just "fast-forward" it! The game indeed boasts good graphics but infact no detail compared to the PS2 titles.
If you've never played a single WWE game in your life - then this is the game for you ! If you've played 'WWE' on the PS2 - forget about even looking at the cover of 'Raw' ! Because it is too "raw" !

WWE Raw is so crap there are barely any matches, it's impossible to win a match & the season is so stupid, the wrestlers barely look what they do in real life (Triple H is pale, Kane has a square head & The Rock looks like Booker T)
Never buy this game you would have more fun sitting staring at a wall.

1.0 out of 5 stars Let Down 14 Aug 2012
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
This game is a rip off as it's really slow when moving at times you can't pull off moves when you want to and the characters really look block work nothing more.

This game is like Wrestlemania for N64 slow, pitful and not many game modes you can play on too this is a big waste and a let down by all means don't buy.

1.0 out of 5 stars WWE Undercooked 28 Nov 2002
I will start by basically saying do not waste your money on this rubbish.
Some people have rated this game as the thinking mans wrestling game where tactics come into it over button bashing. These people are either blind or have obviously never played the game before. Firstly, when you attempt to perform a certain wrestling move such as the suplex you will find your wrestler pulling off a body slam, then when you go to perform a body slam you will pull off a piledriver. The games controls seem to be a bit haywire and the moves you set out to do don't match what you see on screen.
One of the most annoying aspects of the game is the fact that once you do perform a move on your opponent you will find that he will in 90% of the times get up before you. I don't know about you but if somebody body slammed me 15 times and then suplexed me a couple of times i'd be feeling a bit groggy if not out cold, however this game seems to think that some people could get up before you and hit you with a move after you've just hit them.
Another downfall is the finishing moves which seem nearly impossible to pull off, and once you do pull one off...you've guessed it they will get up before you. This is extremely frustrating as matches can end up lasting 15 to 20 minutes.
The only selling point of this game are the graphics and the entrances of the wrestlers which to be fair are superb however if graphics sold games then space invaders and pacman would of been flops.
If you are still interested in purchasing this game then let me finish this review by saying don't say i didn't warn you

5.0 out of 5 stars Xbox goes WWE raw 22 Sep 2002
Here it is, the first wwe game on xbox. its been a long time coming, those americans have had it since february. fans of no mercy on n64 will be pleased to hear that the game engine follows the sim based fighting mechanism, rather than the arcade style of smackdown on ps2 and wrestlemania x8 on gamecube. The game will leave people little dissapointed in areas. Theres no real speciality matches like cage, ladders, tables etc. and the roster is a bit dated as its not really been updated from americas version. no rvd and booker t etc. all that aside its by far the best graphical wrestling game and the entrances are spot on, best so far. Takers entrance is great, sporting his harley. this game should satisfy all hardcore fans as theres plenty of items to unlock including rocks shades and takers bandana. all in all its a great game, solid looking with all the signature moves done to perfection. it should tie you over till raw 2 which looks awesome, updated superstars, table matches, ladder matches etc. also a custom soundtrack which enables your custom wrestler to enter the ring to your fave music cds. I recommend raw to all wrestling fans or fighting game fans. so just buy it!!
