4.0 out of 5 stars Addictive, good but short, 27 Dec 2004
By Elliott B aged 11 (Nottingham, UK) - See all my reviews
I had this game as a Christmas present. I played it for absolutely ages because it is so addictive. The characters are realistic and the graphics are brilliant, but as it is the first gba game I've played then I cannot really compare it to any others. I would recommend this for kids aged 8 and over because I found some of the controls quite tricky and a lot of enemies to defeat. The only fault I have with it (and the reason I've given it 4 out of 5) is because it quite short, but this could be due to the fact I played it compulsively!

2.0 out of 5 stars Very like the film, but gameplay is slow, boring and limited, 15 Dec 2004
I was full of high hopes for this game, as I loved the film. I expected a visually gorgeous, complex, engrossing and fun game, but, alas, that is NOT what I got. While it has some shots from the film and looks good (not great, just good), its cons definitely outweigh the pros.

Cons:
- all you do is fight people- nothing engrossing
- character control is very poor
- Mr Incredible moves SO slowly, it's so frustrating!
- It's hard to tell if you are level with the "baddies", and therefore whether you can hit them
- you can't go back from where you came, or explore the levels- you just move along killing people. Boring.
- It doesn't save your progress, but reverts to the good ol' password method.
- The levels are monotonous
- When you start a level again, you still have to go through all the silly speech bubble things, which hold progress up even MORE! (not good for a game that already fails to engage!)

I could go on... basically I think that the only good thing about this game is that it looks quite good, and is tied to the movie, which is a fantastic movie.

I would advise anyone looking for the same things out of a game as I was- fun, absorbing, challenging, great to explore etc etc- NOT to buy this game, you will be disappointed.

2.0 out of 5 stars What is the attraction?, 5 Aug 2005
I decided to buy this for my 8 year old son, along with the gba as we are travelling alot this summer. We have a PS2 at home and that is fine, but apart from the fact that this fits in your pocket, I really do not see the attraction to it.

We all enjoy the graphics and gaming capabilities of our PS2 and friends x-box - in comparison this game is a trip back to the games of the mid eighties (and not in a fun nostalgic way either.) All you do is scroll along punching people, it is awful. He has had it less than 24 hours, and like others who have written a review, has virtually completed it.

Not impressed at all. It only gets two stars for the Elastagirl stretchy bits!
