Very like the film, but gameplay is slow, boring and limited, 15 Dec 2004
I was full of high hopes for this game, as I loved the film. I expected a visually gorgeous, complex, engrossing and fun game, but, alas, that is NOT what I got. While it has some shots from the film and looks good (not great, just good), its cons definitely outweigh the pros. Cons: - all you do is fight people- nothing engrossing - character control is very poor - Mr Incredible moves SO slowly, it's so frustrating! - It's hard to tell if you are level with the "baddies", and therefore whether you can hit them - you can't go back from where you came, or explore the levels- you just move along killing people. Boring. - It doesn't save your progress, but reverts to the good ol' password method. - The levels are monotonous - When you start a level again, you still have to go through all the silly speech bubble things, which hold progress up even MORE! (not good for a game that already fails to engage!) I could go on... basically I think that the only good thing about this game is that it looks quite good, and is tied to the movie, which is a fantastic movie. I would advise anyone looking for the same things out of a game as I was- fun, absorbing, challenging, great to explore etc etc- NOT to buy this game, you will be disappointed.
