Child hood memories 8 Feb 2012
Fun:
A Review by Gillian:

Rugrats Search for Reptar is a game based on the popular children's cartoon show The Rugrats, and focuses primarily on the Pickles family; Tommy being the main character featured on the CD case in the blue top and white diaper. This is the first of the Rugrats games for the PS1 and follows the adventure of Tommy trying to find his missing Reptar puzzle pieces. Reptar is a fictional character in the show and is usually depicted to be a hero in the series. As Tommy you play through a series of missions leveling from easy to hard around the house and other locations. The controls are fairly basic and easy to use however I do find it can be hard to jump gaps sometimes which does get rather annoying after awhile. The graphics aren't the best but this is a PS1 game but theres enough features in the game to capture the interest of child audiences in my opinion. There are certain levels which may be scary for children, as experienced myself when I played this game as a kid there was At least two levels which I disliked playing because they frightened me however a majority of the game is fun. A few levels can also be challenging and this may frustrate children however most missions are basic.

There are a few glitches in this game which is too be expected from a PS1 game, I myself find a particular glitch when playing the hide and seek level as Chuckie. When it is raining there is a glitch whereby you can get outside into the garden when you are not supposed to; however this is not advised to do as it can be quite tricky to get back inside the house.

This is a must have game for any Rugrats fan and I believe parents to will have fun finding the Reptar puzzle pieces with their children. If however you prefer pristine crystal clear graphics then you won't get that with this game as expected; yet it is still an enjoyable game. I am now 17 years old and I found myself playing the game just yesterday in order to write this review.
