Book Description

General Benidict Arnold was a loyal American solider, passed over for promotion after promotion by younger comrades. His hatred for the French bubbles into a dejection of his own people when America begins serious negotiations with France for help in the Revolution.

Finally, the last straw breaks and Arnold betrays his country to the Brits, attempting to surrender West Point in the Fall of 1780. He is arrested and with America turning the tide in the war, he figures to spend the remainder of his life in prison.

Now here the history…gets fuzzy.

According to history Arnold joins the British army and leads an invasion of Virginia. His career, and his popularity, begin to falter after a few military blunders, until his British superiors lose all faith in him – subjecting him to lower-level posts and assignments until the end of the war. He ends his life as an unsuccessful businessman and dies in 1801.

Washington, on the other hand, continues to lead the American troops until the British surrender. He becomes the first President of the USA, and after serving two terms, retires to Virginia and eventually dies a hero in 1799.

What you don’t know is neither of those men were who they claimed to be.

What follows is a story about the greatest switch-a-roo ever pulled on the American people. If you thought the JFK murder was a conspiracy, this will blow you away.

In the midst of this plot, is the story of an arrogant, self-serving man, who slowly learns what it means to be an American, and in doing so, finally finds redemption.

Maybe I missed the point but what impressed me most was the switch-a-roo between Arnold and Washington. I need go no more down this road . . .
