Peter Ustinov presents this exploration of the history of the Orient Express, which originally ran across Europe from Paris to Istanbul. Synonymous with intrigue and luxury travel, this famous passenger line was famously used by crime novelist Agatha Christie as the setting for one of her best-known works, 'Murder on the Orient Express'.

David Suchet of Hercule Poirot fame recently did a documentary called David Suchet on the Orient Express which was excellent. David Suchet was interested in everything that went on around him. The same cannot be said of Peter Ustinov who was introvered and a tad morose. Peter Ustinov's documentary is less focused on the history of the train than on him playing amateur charades opposite actors employed to portray some of the more criminal types who have traveled on the train in real life. All rather silly.

The book contains factual inaccuracies. Avoid.

I threw the DVD out after watching it. Not worth the money.
