This Polish import is a fine addition to my already well-stocked DVD collection. Sir Roger Moore, 1 of my all-time favourite actors, gives a virtuoso performance as Dr.Judd Stevens, a specialist in listening to people's problems. Early into the film we see the irreplaceable Rod Steiger as Lt Mcreevy, a hard case who holds a personal grudge against Stevens because of a case involving the death of Mcreevy's former partner some years before, enter, aided by his new sidekick(well played by Elliot Gould)wielding Stevens yellow raincoat tarnished by a bloodstain from where a knife has already been inserted into the side of 1 of Stevens' unsuspecting clients. As the case unfolds and several incidents occur, Stevens realises that his life is in mortal danger, but can't think of who or why anyone would want him dead. Adding to the tension is Mcreevy's own obvious personal distain for Stevens. Gould is excellent as the would-be sidekick who later turns out to be a runner for the mob. As it turns out, it is the paranoid husband of 1 of Stevens' patients who is at the centre of all these attempts on Stevens' life. Gould is mercilessly thrown into a waste paper crusher and it is left to Mcreevy and his police partners to save Stevens' life before he is wasted by the mob. Overall an enjoyable and suspensful film with more than a few twists throughout. Good performances from Moore, Steiger and Gould make this a must have for 1980's film buffs.

This movie is hust excellent. What more can I say. A psychiatrist (Moore) inadvertently has as a patient a woman that is the wife of a Mafia Capo. This puts him in a truly dangerous position having to navigate between obligations towards his professional secrecy and loyalty to the police when a person, believed to be him, is obviously murdered. The plot ends surprisingly! Its a thriller through and through and Morre playes excellently. You will want to see this again and again. Unreservedly recommended.
