Read this light hearted book very quickly. An excellent book to shut out the world with. Written in the period so don't expect steamy scenes but expect GOOD entertainment.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent romance novel 26 Sep 2013
By Jim..
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a very well written and compellingly readable novel about Hope a young woman who rails against conventions. The relationships are deligtfully portrayed between her and her aunt, and the romance is charming and pretty. Good for dowton addicts!

5.0 out of 5 stars Charming and funny romance 25 Sep 2013
By Jak
Format:Kindle Edition
I found Patricia Keyson's earlier novel "Holiday Romance," a charming and captivating romance novel, made more gripping by the element of suspense. "Romance Revised "was similarly well written and readable, drawing the reader in to want things to turn out well for the heroine.

This most recent book has all the virtues of the earlier works, but set in a different time and giving us a charming and funny romance set in Victorian times.

4.0 out of 5 stars Would actually rate 3.5, but did enjoy reading 6 Oct 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
While this tale contains the overly used plot element of a cross dressing heroine, it is never the less charming and portrays a sweet romance between two people who deserve a happy ending.
Hero and heroine have a strong social conscience and share a chaste slow burn romance.
The supporting characters are also pleasing, nothing 2D or poorly plotted in this tale.

5.0 out of 5 stars Manner house 24 Sep 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
In this delightful novel of manners set in a large London townhouse in the Victorian period, Keyson captures the changing mores of the time in the relations of the pretty, idealistic young protagonist woman to her family, her maid and the eligible beau Beaumont, in a carefully crafted Gissing-esque romantic tale.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Magic Touch 10 Oct 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Breezy story with engaging lead and secondary characters. A real pleasure to find a quality tale not relying on steamy sex scenes. I think the author captures the Victorian mood superbly.
