This review may sound harsh but I believe in telling it like it is. As a reader of countless pike fishing books I have to say that I was thoroughly underwhelmed by this publication. It is little more than a thinly veiled product catalogue for the Fox Predator range of tackle. I found much of the advice inside to be very basic and a lot of the sections on venues really did over generalise - if I had to sum this book up in one sentence I would say "Too many photos of Fox tackle, too many large diagrams and not enough detailed text about pike fishing itself". Don't get me wrong, I use Fox tackle because it is among the best available, but with anglers such as Mick Brown, Dave Kelbrick and Max Cottis involved in putting this book together, I expected so much better from Fox and they have really missed the opportunity to make this the new bible of modern pike fishing. Instead they have ended up with a rather wishy washy and disappointingly blatant marketing exercise for the company. It rarely moves from my bookcase.
