Product Description

Product Description

“With beautifully constructed prose and an intensely brisk pace, THE END is a very quick and satisfying 74 page read. It’s a character study, replete with originality in a genre that sorely needs it.” - from The Obsessive Book Nerd

Told from the zombie's perspective, THE END is one woman's account of the end of her life, her family and everything.

Like many single parents in their thirties Zoe is overworked, overburdened and low on company, and when the zombie apocalypse begins she is forced to face the monster that has taken her over, the horrors he shows her, and her own murky past.

“…achingly mournful, almost unbearable…a novella of genuine intelligence and masterful narration…ultimately THE END is an observation of loss…” - from The Slaughtered Bird

THE END, a literary journey through the horror of loss.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who'd have thought a zombie had feelings too? 20 Mar 2014
By Talac
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is THE best zombie literature I've come across in a long time. Haunting, horrifying, morbid and unpleasant. Loved it. Mr Booth clearly draws inspiration from the classic Baby Yang story particularly during the initial transformation. Can't wait for more from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Horrifyingly atmospheric 17 Feb 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A grotesquely descriptive and horrifyingly atmospheric Zombie novel with a difference. First person narrative from the Zombie herself... I love how a trace of the human she once was remains despite the horror and death and rot which prevails.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely worth reading! 8 Feb 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is definitely a book that you’ll read in one sitting! It’s very descriptive and highly captivating. I’ve never been a big fan of zombie books and movies, but I felt that this book was more than the story of someone who was turned into a zombie…it’s deeper than that, it had some good philosophical points and when you read it you feel like you’re part of it.
I would highly recommend it if you want to read something a bit different!

5.0 out of 5 stars I really enjoyed this book 13 July 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this book. A unique take on the zombie genre that has the reader experiencing a zombie holocaust through the eyes of a woman trapped within her own dead zombie form. Building up to a powerful ending, this throws the usual zombie cliches on it's head and goes into new, uncharted territories. A must read for any horror fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and Devastating 7 Feb 2014
By Lucy
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this book. What the main character goes through is really harrowing and the story is bleak but I couldn't look away. It could have been longer I guess, was enjoying it so much I read it all in one sitting and that's why I only gave it 4 stars. Would like the see more from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant 13 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this book, I very quickly became engrossed in the story. It is a chilling tale that offers horror and gore, as you might expect, but also much more given that it is told from the perspective of the zombie.
I would recommend this book, even if you are not an avid zombie fan, it is well worth the read.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a thought-disturber... 5 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Yes there is gore, but for me it was a claustrophobic, psychological horror with a harrowing twist to the meaning of "inevitability". It is short, but the impact is long-lasting.
