34 tracks on this double CD collection, make this a purchase to be thankful for. Lee Ann Womack has a wonderful soprano voice that has traces of Dolly, Tammy and Linda Ronstadt, and yet has an undefinable original quality.
This collection has songs of sadness, happiness, longing and regret, plus any other emotion you can think of. All of the tracks have that stand-out quality. This is not a best of... nor the greatest hits of..., but a collection that shows the all-round versatility if this artiste. My favourites are, `I Hope You Dance`, orginally scheduled to be just a solo, but was overheard by The Sons Of The Pioneers, from another part of the studio. Hence we have one of the most ethereal and haunting interpretations of a song ever. This was the biggest selling country music song of the year 2000, receiving many awards and accolades. Another great song is `Mendocino County Line` a duet with Willie Nelson.
The solo tracks include, `Lord I Hope This Day Is Good` and `She`s Got You`, billed as a tribute to Patsy Cline but with a totally original arrangement. Most of the songs will be unfamiliar to a lot of people, but not for long. This is one collection that you will play often.
