Product Description

Imagine what would happen if it started to snow in the United Kingdom one winter and didn’t stop for three weeks. Three weeks!
Imagine if the blizzard continued unabated until the snow lay over thirty feet deep.
Imagine how the population of the UK would cope. Would they? Did they?
SNOW! introduced a series of characters attempting to win out against the freezing and debilitating conditions. Many failed but a few hardy souls battled through the appalling weather to become survivors.
Andrew Brady returns to the UK to rescue his long lost daughter trapped beneath the snow. THAW! traces the continuing struggles of other SNOW! characters and their journeys to true survival…or perhaps not.
THAW! also introduces new heroes such as Sir Ian James, Ross Bryant and Ann Fletcher who co-ordinate the battle for recovery in a country on its knees.
Ask yourself: could this scenario really come to pass?
Could it?

1.0 out of 5 stars What a mixture 20 Mar 2014

Well it got off to a good start. Then it took off in various bizarre directions with a murderous megalomaniac. I thought some of the details about coping abroad and being permanently exiled from a disaster zone which was a vast graveyard were quite interesting. I just got really fed up with all the chopping and changing. This writer can't decide if he is writing a survival book, or a thriller or even just a diary.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting 5 Mar 2014

This was a great read, if a bit repetitive from the first book 'snow'. The story kept me engrossed from beginning to end, I am disappointed I have to wait until 2015 for the last book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Thaw compared to Snow 8 Jun 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Really enjoyed "Snow" but was disappointed to find that in "Thaw" our main protaganist seems to have changed personality half way through and the story-line has started to become very less credible with various unbelievable characters. I thought the change in writing between Snow & Thaw was a a great shame.

very enjoyable book. thought-provoking story that continues the Snow story and bringing in new characters. With the terrible floods of 2014 still fresh in minds this book really makes you think what if..shame you have to wait 12 months for the final chapter..

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Winner 21 July 2014
By J. N. Bullock VINE VOICE
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Snow the first book Ryan Clifford's trilogy was well written and technically almost without fault and book 2, Thaw, follows on in the same way. With the British isles under tens of feet of snow due to freak weather there is a total break down of society and millions of casualties. Then the thaw eventually sets in but the only result is even greater catastrophe and yet more deaths. Hero's and villain's cross the pages along with those who just want to survive in a tapestry that is quit breath taking in it's bleakness.

In his writing Ryan Clifford manages to capture the sense of desperation that the survivors of such a disaster would feel and sometimes this reader felt quite depressed but this is a disaster story and the authors skill is making the story always have hope.

I recommend this book, it's good.

Having read and really enjoyed the first book Snow, I was really looking forward to reading the follow up, but, was sadly disappointed.

While I appreciated the need for some background for those not having read Snow, the endless repetition of who was who and what happened was too much for me.

I also thought there was too much of the 'military/government/managerial' stuff, I wanted to read about the people and how they were affected because of the thaw, maybe that came later, but I had given up by then!

5.0 out of 5 stars Looking forward to the third in the series. 28 Nov 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A really good follow up to "SNOW" but with the addition of some new characters that are obviously going to feature heavily in the third of the trilogy. This book starts to incorporate a subplot that adds to the read and makes you wonder what's coming next.Looking forward to the continuing story in "FLOOD"
