This is an excellent product. very well made and very practical.Because it is wireless you can place it anywhere in the house and it gives the temperature of that room and outside where you have placed the sensor. It also records lows and highs so you can see how low the temperature got during the night for instance. Also has time /day and date.

I have a TFA weather station which I am completely satisfied with. So, when I wanted an exterior/interior electronic thermometer, I naturally went for the same make.

It does exactly what I wanted, and has only one shortcoming. The calendar is only available in German, so that the abbreviations for the days of the week don't match English. I contacted TFA, who told me, quite simply, that there wasn't an English version, and that it couldn't be changed.

Not enough to put anyone off buying this gadget - it's excellent value for money - but a minor irritant, which is not explained before you buy it.

I purchased two of these from Amazon separately over a period of 3 months (very prompt delivery I hasten to add). The first one sits in the living room and provides very handy outside temperature readings from its transmitter, which I placed low down in a shaded and relatively rain-free position, in the back garden. These readings very closely match the actual temps given out on the tv forecasts. So impressed - I bought another for the bedroom so I could see at a glance in the morning (or any time for that matter and purely for interest) what the temp was outside. This has its own transmitter which sits just above my other one, and its outside temp readings are constantly within 0.1 to 0.2 deg C of the other unit, which is good enough for me. The inside temp always shows upstairs to be about 1.0 deg C higher than downstairs, which you would normally expect. This also provides useful evidence against the wifes usual comments about it being too cold in the house, thus saving you thousands pounds in central heating bills. Overall, a very good bit of kit.

This wireless thermometer has large digits on the screen so is easy to read at a distance. It was easy to set up and seems to be accurate.

Excellent product, easy to set up and comes with batteries and screws to mount external sensor. Contrary to some previous reviews, the product now comes with instructions in multiple languages, inc English! Seems v accurate (when next to each other, kept = temp) and no problems whatsoever with transmission between units. Bargain!

As some other comments already say, the days of the week are in German. However, I'm not bothered by that.
The readings are fairly reliable. If you put the outside thermometer inside the house and right beside the inside thermometer, they will measure about 1 degree of difference, whith the outside one usually showing about 1 degree less than the inside one.
After putting the outside thermometer outside, I could confirm that the wireless communication seems to work well. The only problem is the sun that heats it directly at noon, making it show much higher temperature than the actual one =P

An Indoor/Outdoor temperature thermometers was always something I thought useful for the house but the need for a physical connection was irksome and the wireless versions rather expensive.

This thermometer is perfect: easy to install, good design with useful extra functions (date/time/max & min temps indoor & outdoor) and a very attractive price.

Go for it!

The Wireless thermometer had the potential to give me useful information on the temperature of our greenhouse. I did the usual checks indoors, locating the temperature transmitter (outdoor sensor) in the same room as the base unit and in different rooms with no loss of signal despite transmitting through walls and floors. The base unit and outdoor sensor were within 0.5 deg C when in the same room. The unit worked well when placed outside and in a greenhouse which was about 20m from the house. It would probably have worked at a greater distance but I did not try it. The unit failed when the outdoor temperature dropped to below about 8 deg C, giving a blank 'outdoor' reading. When the outdoor transmitter was brought inside it started to work again once it warmed up. I thought it was a battery problem but it was not. The suppliers confirmed this was a fault and I returned the unit as instructed. The max/min readings are saved with the time when they were reached which is useful. Unlike other comments the base unit and transmitter do not have to be beamed towards each other to work. So I think this is a potentially very useful instrument and it was a pity that mine developed a fault from the start.
