I got this after sending back a Climmet CM2000. That had a 1 minute offset on the radio controlled clock (firmware error I was told) and one of the sensors packed in. The screen was awful to look at as it had a touch sensitive film over it which wasn't very translucent.
This Sinus kit sounded better and cheaper.

Plus points
Sensors of good quality build
Screen is good to look at compared to touch sensitive screens.
You can set you longitude and latitude despite this being missed from spec.
memory lasts for 8 days recording at 1 hour intervals - enough for me.
Software gives more info than console display for current data as well as graphs etc. and nicely laid out.
Backlight nice blue and provides fairly even coverage.
Can adjust height to get the pressure right.
Can add more sensors for outside temperature and pressure if want.
Like the moon phase (astronomy hobby)
Like the sunrise and sunset times (golf hobby)
The wind sensor seems to read right down to 0mph and not stop at 3mph as spec.
The wind direction shows the how the sensor has moved about since the last reading in an animated way on the console when it updates every 20 seconds or so.
I put the outdoor and indoor sensors together and left over night to stabilise (they take a while to change to the surroundings) and they were only .1 degree out.
There are 3 sensor groups each with different transmitter so can locate them in best places for sensor type. Some others have only one transmitter and you have to group all in one place which isn't best.

Bad points
The arrow keys seem to work in reverse on some things
Navigating around isn't easiest and often need the manual
The rain sensor only reads to multiples of about 0.7mm - the internal cups which fill up and tip are bigger than the other one I had
There is an additional (to the main outdoor sensor) temperature probe in the wind sensor that displays on the console but this seems to be consistently 2 degrees above the other one (height difference might cause some of this)
You have to press several buttons to get the date to show up instead of the time.
I had to manually correct for BST - probably as it is using the Düsseldorf transmitter?
I have lost transmission with the outdoor temperature sensor twice for some reason despite being fairly close but holding down the down arrow key picked them up again. I moved the sensor further out from the wall of the house in a bush and that seems to have solved the problem.
The temperature sensor doesn't come with a baffle (can't remember the real name) so you have to hide it out of the sun.

Summary
Very good and the bad bits are more irritating than show stoppers. Was certainly miles better than the Climmet one I had. The only real difference between this and the Nexus station is that the Nexus has more memory that you may or may not need and be able to justify for the price. The sensors look like they are the same and the display is just different with the same data on as far as I can see. Both made by TFA. Incidentally mine came direct from Germany in less than a week despite what it said that they were in stock in the UK but no real problem.

Can recommend. Hope you found this useful.

Great Product 30 July 2010
Fantastic product, all the sensors work fine and the connection to the main unit has never been a problem. The software provided is good with many different graphs and tables that display the data.

The initial set up is rather complicated but I've found that I don't need to use the main display unit as all the settings can be changed via the software. The extra temperature sensor on the anomometer is quite inaccurate and it always different to the temperature/humidity sensor. The software also fails to interperet the wind chill as the graph is exactly the same as the temperature.

Overall though, only minor problems and this product is thoroughly recommended, great value and perfect for an amateur meteorologist like me! :)

This seems to be a high quality, and accurate weather station. Setting it up is fairly easy and quick. There are a couple of issues(when setting the altitude for the barometer,it changes when you set the sea level pressure, and the wind chill allways seems the same as the actual temperature. but these are minor niggles. The display is clear and informative, and connects via usb to a pc, though you may have to change the dpi setting to see it in full. I am very satisfied with this product.
