I would guess this album is probably aimed at his numerous die hard fans and for them it captures the gentle magic of Terry Callier on home turf (The Jazz Cafe). In fact it feels like he's playing in your front room with the fire lit. It doesn't strike me as his best live album - for that you might wish to go to Alive which has more oomph and sparkle. However the songs are different from his standard repertoire though the choice of songs aren't great. He also occasionally drifts off in monologue about John Coltrane in a way that is a bit dull on CD but probably worked well live. It's a pleasant addition to a great collection of fine and wonderful albums. Maybe it will grow on me and I look forward to that.
